Prime Video has one of the most promising genre shows in its catalog, and after an exciting first season, it is clear that the show can only improve from here, and the Sci-Fi-Fantasy series knows exactly how to do it. Prime Video is one of the biggest streaming services out there. As such, Prime Video's roster of original series is vast.

With the age of streaming, I have found myself more often than not gravitating towards Sci-Fi TV shows or Fantasy series. The reason is simple, as streamers have started to give these shows bigger budgets, and we are essentially getting movie-like productions on a weekly basis. I was excited to find a Prime Video hit that mixes both genres, and it can get even better.

Secret Level Is A Sci-Fi/Fantasy Masterpiece That Could Improve One Aspect

And They Shall Know No Fear"

Secret Level season 1 was released on December 10, 2024. The 15-episode first season of the genre show was exciting, with Prime Video presenting its own version of Netflix's popular adult animated anthology series Love Death + Robots. While Secret Level also hails from creator Tim Miller, the Prime Video Sci-Fi/Fantasy series focuses on different games, making it perfect for gamers.

Secret Level featured characters and storylines from games like Mega Man, God of War, Pac-Man, Warhammer 40,000, and many more. The Prime Video series' first season was received positively, though it could improve. On Rotten Tomatoes, Secret Level season 1 holds a 65% critics' score. Its audience score is a little better, standing at 71% at the time of writing.

Secret Level had the biggest animated debut of all time for Prime Video when season 1 came out, leading to a season 2 renewal. While we don't know exactly when the animated series will be back, another round of video game adaptations is coming soon to Prime Video. To show growth, Secret Level needs to improve its standing on Rotten Tomatoes.

That said, the show can only get better from now on. Secret Level season 1 had the hard task of establishing the video game anthology format and did so with not that many big titles. Now that the foundation has been laid down, the series can build on it. Prime Video can likely use the show's success to nab even bigger game franchises for new episodes.

Additionally, many of the show's episodes felt purely like fight sequences, something that can now change with knowledge of what worked and what didn't. Secret Level also has a game plan of how to improve, as Love Death + Robots' Rotten Tomatoes critics' score has gotten better year after year, going from 77% to 82% to 100% to 100% again. Secret Level is likely to follow the same path.
