Netflix's movies to watch this weekend are trending worldwide, though a hidden gem has yet to be discovered in the United States. Last weekend's Netflix movie recommendations were The Rip, Bone Lake, and Donnie Darko. That made for a dark three-film binge, something that has now been adjusted to provide a fresh experience this time around.
Among Netflix's best original movies is none other than the biggest film of all time on the platform, which just broke another record, meriting an addition to the list. The other two films are a spy thriller from one of the most popular movie franchises in Hollywood, and a new release that promises to be one of Netflix's latest hidden gems to be uncovered.
3 No Time to Die (2021)
First up is Daniel Craig's final movie as James Bond. While rumors swirl about Academy Award-nominated actor Jacob Elordi taking over as the world's most famous spy, every James Bond movie released so far has become available on Netflix as of January 21. As such, No Time to Die has become a must-have for this weekend's movie binge.
What better way to prepare for the next Bond than with Craig's final adventure as the spy? No Time to Die is relentless in its action with big set pieces and a hard-hitting emotional core that firmly ends the story of Craig's more brutal version of Bond once and for all.
2 KPop Demon Hunters (2025)
Next up is KPop Demon Hunters, which is simply Netflix's biggest movie of all time. The animated film is fresh off two Oscar nominations, one being for Best Song, for "Golden," and the other for Best Animated Feature. The movie is a thrill ride with gorgeous visuals and a unique concept.
KPop Demon Hunters was also revealed by Netflix in a recent report to have become the streaming service's most-watched title over a six-month period ever, with 482M views. KPop Demon Hunters is a crowd-pleaser, with a rare near-perfect 99% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, making it the perfect sing-along session for the whole family this weekend.
1 From the Ashes: The Pit (2026)
Finally, my last recommendation is a surprising new release that is taking the world by storm but has yet to perform in the United States. From the Ashes: The Pit is a movie from Saudi Arabia that tells the story of three students from an all-girls school who have to fight to survive as they get trapped in an underground pit during a storm.
The new Netflix original movie is a psychological thriller that will have viewers anxious throughout its runtime. It makes for the perfect watch to get the adrenaline pumping as the weekend moves on. According to FlixPatrol, From the Ashes: The Pit is the 9th most-watched movie on Netflix worldwide, but it doesn't chart in the US. As such, try out this Netflix gem this weekend!
