Just one full weekend in January 2026 remains, and it's important to make it count. The first month of the year on streaming has been dominated by the same titles, as the final season of the flagship Netflix sci-fi series Stranger Things dominated discourse despite releasing at the end of last year. Weekly episodes of the brilliant video game adaptation Fallout's second season kept it on top of the Prime Video streaming charts this whole month, and plenty of surprises, like Jon Bernthal and Tessa Thompson's His & Hers, had viewers unexpectedly hooked. With just one full weekend left, make the most of it with this trio of Netflix shows you should binge-watch.

3 'Free Bert' (2026)
A trio of recommendations for this weekend would be incomplete without one of the newest arrivals to Netflix. Free Bert follows Bert Kreischer as himself as he attempts to find his place in a new Beverly Hills neighborhood. He and his family are often foul-mouthed and always chaotic, so how will they fit in with very different, privately-educated expectations?
Expect sex, nudity, and foul language in this NSFW series. Also starring the likes of Arden Myrin as Kreischer’s wife, LeeAnn, Ava Ryan as their older daughter, Georgia, Lilou Lang, Christine Horn, Chris Witaske, Mandell Maughan, Sophia Reid-Gantzert, and many more, you won't want to miss jumping on this indelicate bandwagon.
2 'Southland' (2009–2013)
Rotten Tomatoes: 90% | IMDb: 8.5/10
Another new arrival to Netflix, albeit one resurrected on streaming after ending 13 years ago, police procedural Southland follows the roller-coaster professional and personal lives of police officers in the Los Angeles Police Department. The series is led by veteran cop John Cooper (Michael Cudlitz) as he is tasked with training rookie officer Ben Sherman (Ben McKenzie).
A police procedural to rival any other, Southland boasts a 90% Rotten Tomatoes rating and 8.5/10 IMDb score for good reason. Packed with action and drama, every second of this series feels worthy of watching on the edge of your seat. Created by Ann Biderman (Ray Donovan), the series won two Primetime Emmys during its four-year run, as well as another nomination in 2013.
1 'Rizzoli & Isles' (2010–2016)
Rotten Tomatoes: 89% | IMDb: 7.7/10
Fancy a police procedural like Southland, but hunting for something female-led? Look no further than Rizzoli & Isles. Following the partnership between tough Boston Detective Jane Rizzoli (Angie Harmon) and medical examiner Dr. Maura Isles (Sasha Alexander), the show documents how they put their very different pasts behind them to come together as a formidable crime-solving duo.
An underrated aspect of most police procedurals is the chemistry between the most popular characters. In Rizzoli & Isles, you'll struggle to find better, with their friendship radiating off-screen and into your heart. Crafting emotional depth and plenty of humor through their neatly contrasting dynamics, that alone is enough to warrant a binge-watch of the series, so it's even better that the show also boasts great mysteries and smart action sequences.
