A24’s upcoming adaptation of Holly Brickley’s novel Deep Cuts has sparked controversy online after the studio cast Marty Supreme breakout star Odessa A’zion.

A’zion is poised to play the role of Zoe Gutierrez, a half-Jewish, half-Mexican character whose identity plays a big role in the book.
