After six long years, the Dragon Ball Super anime is finally coming back. It's been way too long since Goku and the rest of the Z Fighters have appeared on-screen, and luckily, it seems that the gang will be back before 2026 is over.

The Dragon Ball Super anime will finally adapt the Galactic Patrol Prisoner arc, one of the most interesting in the series. It's a great arc for a lot of reasons, including the amazing addition of one of Goku's strangest powers yet. It'll be great to see how the anime brings this ability to life, as there has truly never been anything like it in Dragon Ball.

The Galactic Patrol Prisoner Arc Is One of Super's Best

The Galactic Patrol Prisoner arc is set to come out in fall 2026. The arc will take place directly after the Broly arc; sadly, the Legendary Super Saiyan won't feature in it whatsoever. There are still a ton of reasons to enjoy this arc, and Moro, the star antagonist, is certainly one of them.

Moro isn't necessarily stronger than some of the threats Goku and Vegeta have faced, but he does have incredibly unique abilities that the Z Fighters might not be able to deal with. If Goku and the rest of Earth's strongest defenders are going to defeat Moro, they're going to have to come up with something new.

And that's exactly what Goku does: the Galactic Patrol Prisoner arc sees Goku taking the Ultra Instinct form to levels nobody could have seen coming.

Goku Will Take Ultra Instinct to New Heights

Goku summons his ki avatar against Moro

Goku unlocked and mastered Ultra Instinct, one of the strongest forms in Dragon Ball, in the span of 48 minutes during the Tournament of Power. While he can't tap into the Mastered Ultra Instinct state as frequently as he might want to, he is making strides in order to make the form his own.

During the Galactic Patrol Prisoner arc, Goku uses the Ultra Instinct form to create a giant avatar of himself to battle Moro. It's an ability that feels closer to something out of Naruto or My Hero Academia than it does Dragon Ball, as the series has never showcased something like this before.

It's not necessarily a bad thing though, as this form proves that Dragon Ball has more than a few tricks still up its sleeve. Goku's Ultra Instinct avatar form is one of the most exciting parts of the new arc, and hopefully, it looks great when Dragon Ball Super finally comes back later this fall.
