EXCLUSIVE: Cast has rounded out on Gettysburg 1863, the independent Civil War feature we told you about earlier this month.

The ensemble is led by Shannon Lucio (Prison Break) and Eric Nelsen (1883). Joining them in the lead cast are emerging actors Hannah Galway (Billy the Kid), Emma Halleen (American Horror Story) and Kayla Anjali (The Pitt). Also joining is Alfonso Freeman (The Bucket List), son of Morgan Freeman.

As we previously revealed, cast also includes Stephen Lang (Avatar), Jake Busey (Stranger Things), Bruce Boxleitner (Tron), Samuel Roukin (Turn), and Drew Seltzer (Mindhunter).

Directed by Bo Brinkman and produced by Kristin Webb and Ken Schwenker, the production is filming on location in and around Gettysburg in collaboration with the Gettysburg Film Commission and is working with local historians and preservation groups. Release is planned for late 2026.

Currently in production, the film “reexamines the Battle of Gettysburg through an intimate, character-driven lens. Rather than focusing on spectacle alone, the film centers on the human cost of war, told through the experiences of soldiers, civilians, and leaders caught in a pivotal moment in American history.”

It will hone in on a local Gettysburg family navigating the chaos of war, the moral crossroads of the Underground Railroad, and the struggles of a Union soldier torn between duty and compassion.
