The American Film Market is set to return to the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles for its 2026 edition which will take place Nov. 10–15.
“The industry response to our Los Angeles homecoming in 2025 confirmed that the Fairmont venue, coupled with screenings at the AMC Century City 15, was the best setting to support the full scope of the Market’s business activity,” said IFTA, the organizing body of the AFM which pointed the location allowed the industry to have direct access to “the full ecosystem for production, financing, distribution, the agencies and creative leadership.” The Fairmont is literally next door to CAA and many L.A-based film groups.
The AFM’s comeback to L.A. last fall was celebrated by the industry across the board, specially after a loathed trip to Las Vegas in 2024. Still considered a vital stop on the industry circuit, the AFM reported that its space was sold out with 285 exhibitors from 35 countries during its last edition, including leading international companies, including AGC Studios, Anton, Kinology, Charades, Embankment Films, Gaumont, HanWay Films, Goodfellas, Lionsgate, The Match Factory, Neon, Pathé Films, Protagonist Pictures, Studiocanal, WME Independent and XYZ Films, among others. After the U.S., the strongest international representation came from South Korea, Germany, the U.K., France and Italy.
The 2025 edition also hosted National Umbrella Stands with sales and production companies that represented countries including China, France, Germany, Italy, and Thailand, organized respectively by China Film Co-Production Corporation, Unifrance, German Films – Service + Marketing, the Italian Trade Agency with the DGCA Ministry of Culture, and Thailand’s Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP).
