He primarily writes about the latest box office numbers and the hottest movies and TV shows on streaming, while also covering superhero and sci-fi news. One day before the Season 3 premiere, Apple TV has decided the fate of Shrinking. The streamer has confirmed that Shrinking has been renewed for Season 4, which is expected to go into production later this year. Shrinking first premiered in 2023, and the show has had no trouble producing three full seasons thus far. It’s not only possible, but likely that Season 4 will arrive sometime next year. The series stars Harrison Ford and Jason Segel, and it currently rests at impressive marks of 93% from critics and 89% from audiences on the aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes.
Shrinking has been hailed as Apple TV’s Ted Lasso replacement, largely due to both shows sharing such feel-good, emotional vibes. Both series were also written and created for TV by Bill Lawrence, which certainly explains their similarities in tone. Shrinking follows a grieving therapist who starts to break the rules and tell his clients exactly what he thinks. Ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making huge, tumultuous changes to people’s lives, including his own. In addition to Harrison Ford and Jason Segel, Shrinking Season 4 will also return Ted Lasso veteran Brett Goldstein, Cobie Smulders, and Damon Wayans Jr.
Shrinking is also created by its two co-stars, Brett Goldstein and Jason Segel, who have worked as writers on all episodes of the series thus far. Lawrence is also famous for his work on Scrubs, the popular medical drama that ran from 2001 to 2010. He’s even involved in the Scrubs reboot, and he’s working on a new HBO show, Roosters, with Steve Carell. Lawrence has also done work on another hit Apple TV series, Bad Monkey, which stars Vince Vaughn.
What All Is Streaming on Apple TV Right Now?
The most popular show on Apple TV right now is Hijack, the hit thriller series led by Idris Elba that just debuted its second season. It will likely lose its top spot to Shrinking in the next few days, though. Pluribus, the sci-fi series from Vince Gilligan that broke all of Severance’s records, is also still topping Apple TV streaming charts after going off the air a few weeks ago. Even Ted Lasso is still hanging around the Apple TV top 10 years after its last episode.
Be sure to check out all episodes of Shrinking on Apple TV and stay tuned to Collider for more updates and coverage of the show.
