This overlooked Apple TV thriller masterpiece has officially lost its rare perfect 100% Rotten Tomatoes score, but it's still worth watching after its season 2 premiere.

Returning on January 21, 2026, nearly three years after its season 1 premiere, this Apple TV series offers a transfixing blend of psychological thriller, suspense, and drama that viewers won't want to miss.

Drops Of God Season 2 Just Premiered – What It's About

Although it has yet to break into Apple TV's trending charts, Drops of God is one of the best shows to stream right now on Apple TV. Following its perfectly rated, critically acclaimed first season, resulting in a 100% Rotten Tomatoes score, season 2 finally arrived last week with a strong but notably imperfect score of 86%.

Based on a celebrated manga, Drops of God is a French series created by Quoc Dang Tran, known for his work on two of the greatest French Netflix series ever made, Call My Agent! and Marianne. The series chronicles a heated rivalry between a woman named Camille, whose estranged and recently deceased father owns the best wine collections in the world, and her dad's protégé, Issei, who desires to claim her inheritance.

Drops of God season 2 releases new episodes on Apple TV every Wednesday, and will consist of 8 total installments. The season 2 finale is set to be released on March 11, and season 3 has yet to be announced by Apple. At this point, Drops of God appears to be widely overlooked despite its excellent reviews, which doesn't play well for its season 3 chances, even though there is plenty of source material left to adapt for the screen.

It's somewhat remarkable that Drops of God has not been able to make a dent in Apple TV's worldwide trending charts, even after its critical acclaim and its long-awaited return last week. January 2026 has been a busy month for Apple TV, packed with new releases like Hijack season 2 and Shrinking season 3's premiere this week on Wednesday, January 28.

Several Apple TV series that are not currently releasing new episodes, such as Ted Lasso and even the critically panned The Last Frontier, remain in the streamer's global Top 10, while Drops of God continues to be left out of the picture. Hopefully, more Apple TV viewers will catch on to this severely unappreciated psychological thriller masterpiece, so that a season 3 possibility could remain on the table in the future.
