Ariana Grande poked fun at her apparent six fingers following a photoshop fail from her recent shoot for Vogue Japan on Thursday.

The Wicked star, 32, left fans in hysterics after the extra appendage was brought to her attention on Instagram, joking how it could come in handy.

One follower shared the snap, which sees Ariana looking stunning in a floral co-ord with statement diamond earrings and sheer gloves.

However while leaning her left heavily-tattooed hand against a wall, the pop superstar appears to have an extra finger.

One follower captioned the post: 'Who’s responsible for giving Ariana 6 fingers….'.

To which the actress replied: 'Holy sh***! Oh my goodness how exciting ! I’ve been saying I need some extra appendages so that I can start an album ! Thankful for this'.

Fans went wild following Ariana's comments, saying: 'LMFAO': 'LMFAO I love you so much queen': 'this is soooooo silly I love u': 'Silly ari'.

It comes after this week's BAFTA nominations featured some shock snubs, including Ariana's movie Wicked: For Good's absence from all the major categories.

Last year the first Wicked film earned seven nominations, and came home with two wins.

But its sequel has failed to live up to the success of the first movie and a week after being shut out of the Oscar nominations entirely, it only picked up two BAFTA nods.

Though Jon M Chu's movie earned recognition in the costume and hair and make-up categories, its stars Ariana and Cynthia Erivo were snubbed from the acting fields.

Other notable BAFTA snubs include no Guillermo del Toro in the Director category. Del Toro's movie Frankenstein received eight nominations including a Supporting Actor nod for Jacob Elordi and a string of craft and technical nods.

As well as losing out on a Director nomination, the movie also was not recognised in the Best Film or Adapted Screenplay categories, despite being represented in both those fields for the Oscars.

The acting categories have thrown up some surprises with four actors who were nominated at the Oscars missing out at the BAFTAs.

They are Amy Madigan for Weapons, Delroy Lindo for Sinners, Wagner Moura for The Secret Agent and Elle Fanning for Sentimental Value.

And in contrast, there are actors who missed out at the Oscars but have been nominated by BAFTA, including Paul Mescal for Hamnet, Jesse Plemons for Bugonia and Marty Supreme star Odessa A'Zion.

The surprise additions are largely due to the BAFTAs featuring six slots for its performance categories, one more than the Oscars.
