Awkward moment Rocco Ritchie remixes mom Madonna's song as he DJs to empty dancefloor at Grammys party

Rocco Ritchie struggled to get people on the dancefloor during his DJ set at an exclusive Grammy's party – even after he remixed one of his mom Madonna's famous songs.

The 24-year-old son of the Queen of Pep and Guy Ritchie was behind the decks for the Warner Music Group Pre-Grammy awards party in Los Angeles on Thursday night.

At one point during his set, Rocco, who was tasked with closing out the bash, blasted a reworked version of his mom's 1990 hit Vogue.

Sadly though, the remix wasn't enough to attract a crowd to the dancefloor and instead just a few people stood and danced in what appeared to be a near-empty room.

A source at the scene told Daily Mail: 'He was doing the bare minimum as a DJ. He never interacted with the audience.' 

After his show was done, Rocco walked off the stage without any nod to the crowd, although seemed in high spirits. 

Rocco wasn't the only performer of the night with 36-year-old Israeli musician Noga Erez, 24-year-old singer PinkPantheress and singer Remy Bond also on the bill before him. 

According to a source, these three artists filled the room. 

Celebrity guests at the party, hosted at the previous home of the Amoeba Music record store in West Hollywood, included musician and actress Scout Willis, 34, singer songwriter Benson Boone, 23, and model and actress Cara Delevingne, 33. 

Rocco's DJ set comes just weeks after he joined mom Madonna and her 29-year-old boyfriend Akeem Morris on holiday in Morocco earlier this month. 

Siblings David, 20, Mercy, 19, and twins Stella and Estere, 13, were also present for the trip. 

During the family vacation, the group rode stallions through the dune, spent time at desert camp and enjoyed a camel riding experience.

Madonna - who was spotted this week hanging out in a small British seaside town - previously celebrated the New Year in Marrakesh in style with boyfriend Akeem.

Rocco and Madonna have managed to repair their relationship in recent years.

The Grammy winning artist famously became embroiled in a custody battle with her ex-husband Guy in 2016 over Rocco after he chose to leave her during her Rebel Heart Tour to relocate to London to live with his father.

At the time, Madonna had primary custody of her then 16-year-old son, but following a lengthy legal war, a settlement was reached which saw Rocco able to remain in the UK.

In September, Madonna told Jay Shetty in her first interview in nine years that she suffered mentally throughout the custody battle.

'There were moments in my life I wanted to cut my arms off… I actually contemplated suicide,' she said. 

'I would say probably one of the most painful moments in my life where I honestly couldn't see the forest for the trees was when I went through a custody battle with my son. 

'Even though my marriage didn't work out… I mean a lot of people's marriages don't work out. They marry the wrong people. They're not aligned. 

'They're not meant for each other. Someone trying to take my child away from me was like, they might as well just kill me.

'That's really how I was thinking. And I was on tour at the time, so I had to go on stage every night.

'I would just be lying on the floor of my dressing room sobbing. I really thought it was like it was the end of the world. I couldn't take it. I just couldn't take it.'

Madonna, who split from Rocco's father Guy in 2008, said she's now 'good friends' with her son, and credited her spirituality for helping her through the difficult time.

Rocco is no stranger to paying homage to his mother during his DJ sets. 

Last year, he played various remixes of Madonna tracks at the Warner Music & Hennessy's BRIT Awards after party in London.
