Christina Chong reacts to Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 3's 4 Saturn Award nominations, with a special congratulations to her co-stars, Ethan Peck and Paul Wesley. Chong plays Lt. La'an Noonien-Singh on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, with Ethan Peck portraying Lieutenant Spock and Paul Wesley's Lt. Commander James T. Kirk joining as Special Guest Star.
The 53rd Annual Saturn Awards honored Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 3 with nominations for Best Science Fiction Television Series, Best Supporting Actor in a Television Series for Ethan Peck, Best Supporting Actress in a Television Series for Christina Chong, and Best Guest Star in a Television Series for Paul Wesley.
On her Instagram Stories, Christina Chong shared a congratulatory post from Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' writer-producer Bill Wolkoff, that ScreenRant's John Orquiola also shared. Chong reposted on her Story with the caption "Spirk'an 4eva" and a smiley face emoji. Check out Christina's post below:
"Spirk'an" is Christina Chong's cheeky portmanteau for the characters of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' three Saturn-nominated actors: Spock, Kirk, and La'an. All three are in a (sort of) love triangle; La'an and Spock started a relationship in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 3, but there is a lingering attraction between Kirk and La'an from season 2.
Meanwhile, Spock and James T. Kirk took a big leap forward in forging their eternal bromance in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 3. Spock stood by Kirk's side during James' first time as a starship Captain, and the duo understood each other better after sharing a mind meld in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' season 3 finale.
This is Paul Wesley's second Saturn nomination for Special Guest Star, and he won the Saturn for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 2 in 2024. This is also Ethan Peck's third Saturn nomination for Best Supporting Actor for playing Spock on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, while Christina Chong is enjoying her first Best Supporting Actress Saturn recognition for playing La'an.
Despite its divisive fan reaction, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 3 landed on several Best of 2025 lists, and its 4 Saturn Award nominations are a welcome validation for the series and actors.
Christina Chong and Ethan Peck's performances were standouts throughout season 3, while Paul Wesley was the center of arguably season 3's best hour, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 3, episode 6, "The Sehlat Who Ate Its Tail."
