COL Group’s Zhuhai-Macau Studio Commences Full Operations With TVB, Mango TV Productions

COL Group International’s Zhuhai-Macau production studio has officially commenced full operations, marking a significant expansion of the company’s production infrastructure with TVB‘s “City of Splendour” and Mango TV‘s “He Will Return Before Dawn” as its first active projects.

The facility, unveiled in late 2025, now spans 220,000 square meters, with 170,000 square meters allocated to production space across 94 indoor and outdoor sets. The infrastructure has been designed to accommodate both traditional long-form television dramas and high-volume microdrama content, a format experiencing rapid growth across Asian markets.

TVB’s business drama “City of Splendour” returned to the studio on Jan. 20 and completed major interior sequences. The series, which centers on a power struggle within a luxury hotel empire, stars Julian Cheung, Ron Ng, Samantha Ko, Kelly Cheung and David Chiang, and is slated as a flagship entry in TVB’s 2026 programming slate.

Mango TV’s “He Will Return Before Dawn” entered the facility on Jan. 17 to complete a focused schedule of contemporary workplace scenes. Based on a web novel, the microdrama features Bevan Bi and Zhang Miaoyi in lead roles, with supporting performances from Ke Chun, Luo Yizhou, Yin Xiaotian, Geng Le and Ni Jingyang.

The studio will also support original content for FlareFlow, COL’s global microdrama platform, as part of the group’s integrated content ecosystem spanning production, IP development, platform operations and distribution.

The facility has been engineered to enable parallel shoots and rapid set turnover, capabilities designed to support the production demands of microdrama formats while maintaining standards for premium scripted television. COL is targeting partnerships with broadcasters, streaming platforms and content producers across Greater China and the broader Asia-Pacific region.
