Disney's $1.7 Billion Box Office Smash Hit Will Finally Be Available To Watch At Home Very Soon

After a record-breaking $1.7 billion run at the global box office and receiving critical acclaim, Zootopia 2 will now be available to watch at home.

Disney's theatrical animated sequel follows police partners Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman) as they go undercover and unravel a new conspiracy in their city involving Gary De'Snake (Ke Huy Quan). Following its release on November 26, Zootopia 2 went on to become the highest-grossing animated movie of all time, the ninth highest-grossing film ever, and the fifth Walt Disney Studios animation title to earn more than $1 billion globally.

On January 27, Zootopia 2 will be available for purchase or rental on select digital platforms, including Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango at Home. As of March 3, it will be released in 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD formats. Exclusive bonus features, an inside look at Walt Disney Animation Studios, behind-the-scenes moments from the record booth, a spotlight on Shakira's music, and deleted scenes will be included.

A limited edition 4K SteelBook with emphasis on the new fan-favorite character, Gary, is also coming, as are digital and DVD bundles for Zootopia and Zootopia 2. In addition to its dominant box office performance, Zootopia 2 received stellar reviews. ScreenRant's Molly Freeman praised the sequel for going "bigger while maintaining the first film's heart" and for being "a tightly woven mystery with plenty of emotion and humor threaded through to keep audiences of all ages engaged." On Rotten Tomatoes, the film has a "Certified Fresh" 91% critics' score and "Verified Hot" 96% audience score. It is also one of five movies that received an Academy Award nomination this year for Best Animated Feature.

Zootopia 2 will later become available to stream on Disney+, although there is no confirmed release date for this yet. The original 2016 movie and the Zootopia+ series are already included as part of the streaming platform's library.
