Dragon Ball's Legendary Super Saiyan Is the Peak Goku Will Never Reach

Dragon Ball is no stranger to amazing transformations, and Goku has mastered several of the most powerful around. He's the first character in the franchise to use the Super Saiyan transformation, the first to turn Super Saiyan 3, and the first to ascend to Saiyan godhood.

Despite all of Goku's amazing feats, there's one absurdly powerful form that even Goku will never touch. While Goku can use the same abilities as some of the deities in Dragon Ball, there's no way that he can ever get his hands on this brutally powerful transformation.

Dragon Ball Is the Peak of Shōnen Anime

Shōnen is filled with amazing anime series, but none have changed the world quite like Dragon Ball. It's a series so popular that people who don't like anime still enjoy watching it, and there are few who don't immediately recognize Goku and his orange gi.

Dragon Ball is known for a lot of things: it has some of the best fights in anime, amazing characters on both sides of the moral spectrum, and a story that never slows down. Out of all of Dragon Ball's amazing contributions to anime, none may be quite as iconic as its legendary transformations.

Transformations define Dragon Ball like piracy defines One Piece. There wouldn't be a Dragon Ball without transformations, and they've become some of the most exciting moments in the medium. Out of every character in the franchise, no character has as many quality transformations as Goku.

Goku Has a Ton of Amazing, Powerful Forms

Goku has the most transformations in Dragon Ball by some margin. He's unlocked four separate levels of the base Super Saiyan form, achieved Saiyan godhood, went beyond that, and even "trespassed into the domain of the gods," as Vegeta puts it.

Goku's first Super Saiyan transformation might be the single most iconic moment in the history of anime, full stop. It's a moment that created a new generation of anime fans, and decades later, Goku's transformation into the Ultra Instinct form did the same thing.

There aren't many moments in anime that can be considered "internet-breaking", but Goku's reveal of the Ultra Instinct form is certainly one of them. During the Tournament of Power, with his entire universe on the line and his back against the ropes, Goku dug deep and did what he always does: get stronger in the middle of battle.

So far, Goku's Mastered Ultra Instinct form is his most powerful. He's surpassed the normal Super Saiyan forms and started using the same forms as the Angels, characters even stronger than the Gods of Destruction. Still, even though he's used a dozen forms in Dragon Ball, there's one Saiyan form Goku will never be able to touch.

Even Goku Will Never Reach Broly's Level

Even Goku will never be able to use the Legendary Super Saiyan Form. It's one of the strongest forms in Dragon Ball, and it gives Broly the power needed to easily be considered one of the strongest heroes in Dragon Ball.

The Legendary Super Saiyan transformation itself gives Broly immense power. He's already strong in his base form, but by entering his Legendary form, Broly is on the same level as Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Vegeta. If they didn't fuse into Gogeta, they would have had no chance against this monstrosity of a warrior.

Super Saiyan Blue is, in a way, the sixth level of Super Saiyan, after Super Saiyan 1, 2, 3, 4, Red, and then Blue, and Broly skipped all of them. If Goku was able to use this form, he'd be right under Ultra Instinct immediately.

The Legendary Super Saiyan Form Is the Strongest Super Saiyan Form in Dragon Ball

The Legendary Super Saiyan form is the strongest Super Saiyan form in Dragon Ball, and it's not even close. Even after ascending to Super Saiyan God, and taking that up to Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan (Super Saiyan Blue), Goku was no match for Broly's Legendary Super Saiyan form.

During their fight in Dragon Ball Super: Broly, Broly didn't know how to control his power or his rage yet. He fought blindly, attacking with wanton aggression, and even still, he was able to overpower both Vegeta and Goku in battle. In the most recent events of the Dragon Ball Super manga, however, Broly is seen with a lot more control than he had before.

If Broly is able to use this form and maintain a level head at the same time, he might even have enough power to beat Goku in his Ultra Instinct state. Gohan's Beast form is already enough to take on Ultra Instinct, meaning Broly isn't far behind. The Legendary Super Saiyan form is one of the rarest in Dragon Ball, and it'll only get better from here.
