As one of the best dressed women in the world, she is no doubt used to having to suffer for fashion. But even Amal Clooney might have found her latest look a bit of a stretch.

George Clooney’s lawyer wife stepped out in a pair of super-tight, thigh-high boots last week – raising questions about how she managed to get them on in the first place.

The 47-year-old was spotted heading out to lunch with friends in Notting Hill on Friday in an all-black ensemble that let her cognac boots take centre stage.

Although the boots’ designer remains a mystery, Amal is a devoted vintage lover – leading to speculation they are from the archives of one of her favourite designers.

She is no stranger to an over-the-knee boot – often pairing them with a thick cardigan or long coat to take them from risqué to elegant.

She styled this latest pair with a sophisticated wool mini dress, thought to be by British designer Stella McCartney. The dress, which originally cost $1,190, is available on the US version of sale site The Outnet for $476.

Miss McCartney, who is a friend of the human rights lawyer, has provided outfits for some of her biggest moments, including the jumpsuit she wore for her Venice civil ceremony to George, 64, in 2014, and the yellow dress she wore to Prince Harry’s wedding in 2018.

Although this design is from a previous season, cardigans by the label cost around £1,500.

To finish the look, she wore a £2,250 camera bag and £350 ‘Aly’ statement sunglasses by French fashion house Chloé, along with her 7ct diamond engagement ring by jewellery designer Harry Winston.

Last year it was revealed that the couple and their twins, Alexander and Ella, have been granted French citizenship.
