Guy Ritchie’s long-gestating action-adventure movie with Henry Cavill just got the update fans have been waiting for. After years of delays, Black Bear announced this evening that In The Grey, which also stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Eiza González, will be released in theaters on April 10. Production on In The Grey wrapped all the way back in 2023, but the film has been subject to countless delays after most recently being scheduled to release last year. This will be Henry Cavill’s first movie in theaters since he previously worked with Ritchie on The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, excluding his brief cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine.

Kristofer Hivju, famed for his role in HBO’s Game of Thrones series, will also star in In The Grey, along with The Wheel of Time veteran Rosamund Pike. The film will follow a covert team of elite operatives who live in the shadows. They are equally comfortable wielding power and influence as they are weapons and explosives. When a new enemy steals a billion-dollar fortune from one of their clients, the group is sent on what would be a suicide mission for anyone else. Their mission starts as an extraction but turns into an all-out war for strategy.

In The Grey will be the second project of the year for Guy Ritchie, who will first return to the world of Sherlock Holmes with his new Prime Video series, Young Sherlock, on March 4. Ritchie was busy as a bee last year, directing episodes of MobLand and also bringing Fountain of Youth to the small screen. The Indiana Jones dupe was released straight to streaming on Apple TV, and despite poor reviews, it’s still one of the most popular movies on the platform.

When Does Henry Cavill’s 'Highlander' Come Out?

Henry Cavill’s Highlander reboot, which co-stars Dave Bautista and Russell Crowe, is still without a spot on the release calendar. The film was previously scheduled to begin filming at the end of last year, but this was pushed back when Cavill suffered an injury during training. Bautista confirmed to Collider not long ago that production on the film was set to begin any day now, but there have been no reports that cameras are rolling. Highlander will most likely find a spot on the release schedule sometime in 2027, likely in the second half of the year.

Stay tuned to Collider for more updates and coverage of In The Grey leading up to and after release.
