The critically acclaimed drama series that has been hailed as HBO’s Succession replacement is losing ground on streaming to a much older show. On January 11, HBO debuted the highly-anticipated fourth season of Industry, the financial drama starring Game of Thrones veteran Kit Harington and Charlie Heaton (Stranger Things). The show is set in the aftermath of the 2008 financial collapse, and it follows a group of young bankers and traders trying to find their way in the world. At the time of writing, Industry is #4 on HBO Max streaming charts, even falling behind Euphoria, which hasn’t aired an episode since 2022.
Euphoria charging back to the top of HBO Max streaming charts isn’t that surprising, though. Just last week, HBO unveiled the first official trailer for Euphoria Season 3 and also announced that the show will debut on April 12. It was previously confirmed to be arriving in April, but the trailer brought the first official release date. Standing at the top of HBO Max streaming charts right now is A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, the spin-off series set between Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon. The first of six episodes aired last Sunday night.
Holding the second spot on HBO Max streaming charts is The Pitt, the critically acclaimed medical drama starring Noah Wyle. The Pitt won several Emmys last year and has built on the success of the first season, but it doesn’t yet have the fan base to defeat a Game of Thrones-adjacent series on streaming. Still, for the next few weeks, Industry will compete with The Pitt and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms for coveted ground on HBO charts.
Has ‘Industry’ Been Renewed for Season 5?
HBO has yet to officially decide the fate of Industry after Season 4, and this announcement likely won’t come until closer to the end of this season, maybe even weeks or months after. The show has been a consistent performer for the studio, and it’s steadily improved in quality since Season 1, which all bodes well for it potentially receiving more episodes down the line. Industry also stars Marisa Abela, Myha’la, Ken Leung, Harry Lawtey, and more. The show was written and created for TV by Mickey Down and Konrad Kay. Jane Tranter and Joel Collins serve as executive producers.
Check out the first three episodes of Industry Season 4 on HBO Max, and stay tuned to Collider for more streaming updates.
