Jack Quaid played two Boimlers on Star Trek: Lower Decks, and both of his characters are mysteriously missing from Star Trek: Starfleet Academy's Wall of Heroes. Quaid portrayed Brad Boimler and his transporter clone William Boimler on Star Trek: Lower Decks, and both had Starfleet careers worthy of Starfleet Academy's legacy wall.

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy's Wall of Heroes is a stunning way to honor the thousand-year legacy of Starfleet and the legends who have journeyed across the final frontier. Starfleet Academy's wall not only contains the names and final canonical ranks of famous and obscure Star Trek characters, but also real people who have been creative forces in Star Trek.

Every Star Trek TV series boasts iconic characters honored on Starfleet Academy's Wall of Heroes, from Captain James T. Kirk (William Shatner), to Admiral Kathryn Janeway (Kate Mulgrew), to Ambassador Spock (Leonard Nimoy, Ethan Peck), and even deep cuts like Ensign Sito Jaxa (Shannon Fill) and Midshipman Peter Preston (Ike Eisenmann).

Jack Quaid’s Brad & William Boimler From Star Trek: Lower Decks Are Missing From Starfleet Academy’s Wall

Brad and William Boimler

Jack Quaid's two Star Trek: Lower Decks characters, Bradward and William Boimler, are apparently not listed on Star Trek: Starfleet Academy's Wall of Heroes. When Star Trek: Lower Decks ended, Lieutenant Brad Boimler was co-First Officer of the USS Cerritos and well on his way towards his dream of becoming a starship Captain.

Jack Quaid's Star Trek: Lower Decks co-lead, Tawny Newsome, is listed on Starfleet Academy's Wall of Heroes twice, as her character, Commander Beckett Mariner, and as herself, recognized as Admiral Tawny Newsome.

Meanwhile, Brad's transporter clone, William Boimler, was already a Captain. William faked his death and exited the USS Titan to join Section 31. In Star Trek: Lower Decks season 5, Captain William Boimler commanded the Defiant Class starship Anaximander and was exploring Star Trek's multiverse with a crew of Starfleet legends from alternate realities.

Both versions of Boimler are already worthy of being honored in Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, with the Wall of Heroes potentially confirming that Brad Boimer became a Captain, or even an Admiral. William Boimler's Starfleet career and his pioneering work charting parallel universes should also be recognized.

Jack Quaid was a brilliant casting coup for Star Trek: Lower Decks. Quaid was still a rising star when he joined Star Trek on Paramount+ to voice Boimler, but he has become a full-blown movie star, with roles in Scream (2022), Oppenheimer, and as the headliner of Novocaine and Companion.

Other Star Trek Characters Are Missing From Starfleet Academy’s Wall

Star Trek Wall Front-1

Jack Quaid's Brad and William Boimler are in surprisingly good company when it comes to who else is curiously missing from Star Trek: Starfleet Academy's Wall of Heroes, given how much of the Wall has been shown and combed over by Star Trek fans.

While Star Trek: Lower Decks' Mariner, Captain Carol Freeman (Dawnn Lewis), Admiral Alonzo Freeman (Phil LaMarr), and Captain D'Vana Tendi (Noel Wells) are named on Starfleet Academy's Wall, Lt. Samanthan Rutherford (Eugene Cordero), Lt. Shax (Paul Tatasciore), and Captain Jack Ransom (Jerry O'Connell) are absent, along with the Boimlers.

Weirdly, Lt. Commander Una Chin-Riley (Rebecca Romijn) from Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is also apparently absent from Starfleet Academy's Wall of Heroes. As are Lt. Malcolm Reed (Dominic Keating) and Dr. Phlox (John Billingsley) from Star Trek: Enterprise, and Lt. Ezri Dax (Nicole de Boer) from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

Although it's probably unrealistic to have every Star Trek character named in Star Trek: Starfleet Academy's Wall of Heroes, some of the names that do appear seem odd when characters like Jack Quaid's Brad and William Boimler are missing. Perhaps the reasons why are stories Star Trek will tell someday.
