Jamie King's second husband, Austin Sosa, has filed for divorce from the Black Summer actress after less than a year of marriage.
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, the banker filed to end his marriage to the Hart of Dixie alum on Thursday, January 22. ScreenRant has reached out to King's rep for comment. The divorce filing comes just weeks after King was reportedly spotted with hotel owner Vikram Chatwal.
In a statement to Us Weekly, King denied having anything other than a business relationship with Chatwal.
Any recent interactions being referenced publicly were strictly professional business meetings and have no connection to this private matter.
As for her split from Sosa, King told Us the filing came as a complete shock.
I was completely blindsided by the divorce filing, which came out of nowhere. I was with Austin the night before it became public, and while like many marriages we had normal challenges, I genuinely believed we were working on our relationship.
Calling the matter "deeply personal," King told the outlet that her primary focus amid the divorce is her work and her two sons, James, 12, and Leo, 10, whom she shares with ex-husband, Kyle Newman. The pair tied the knot in 2007, with King going on to file for divorce from Newman in May 2020 after 13 years of marriage. Their divorce was finalized in September 2023 after a contentious custody battle.
My focus right now is my work and, above all, my children. This is deeply personal and should remain private, and I hope people will stop making assumptions, particularly ones that unfairly and disproportionately scrutinize women simply for doing their jobs.
While it's unclear when King and Sosa tied the knot, news of their split comes just seven months after the couple announced their engagement, with King's rep telling People at the time that the actress was "grateful" for the support she received from fans, and that she was "especially happy to share this moment with her children, who have a loving bond with Austin and his family."
The rep also shared in the July statement that King's sons had grown "very close" to Sosa and his family after moving out of her Los Angeles apartment.
As always, her sons remain her top priority, and she kindly asks for privacy as they move forward together with love and gratitude. She is very close with his family and was staying with his parents after she moved out of her Los Angeles apartment earlier this year.
While many of the details around their relationship remain under wraps, back in September, King revealed on the Juicy Scoop with Heather McDonald podcast that the pair met after being introduced by mutual friends, simply stating that she was "excited" about this next chapter of her life.
As for Sosa, he has yet to publicly comment on the split.
