Katie Price's mother-in-law defends her son's whirlwind marriage to reality star as she insists 'it is unfair to judge' and admits she has not yet met the bride but they've 'been speaking a lot'

Katie Price's new mother-in-law has defended the star's shock wedding to her son,  Lee Andrews, and revealed her hopes to meet the bride soon.

The former glamour model, 47, stunned both fans and her family when she tied the knot with the Dubai-based businessman on Saturday, after a whirlwind romance.

But Lee's mother, Trisha Andrews, has dismissed concerns over the sudden nuptials, insisting that 'as long as they are happy together that's all that matters.'

The clairvoyant, 61, from Nottinghamshire, admitted that she has never met Katie, but that the pair of them had been 'speaking a lot'.

While she revealed that she was told 'a bit in advance' of the sudden nuptials in Dubai, unlike Katie's own family, who have admitted they were 'left in the dark.'

Trisha told the Daily Mail that it didn't matter if her son married 'someone famous or not', as long as they made him happy.

The former glamour model, 47, stunned both fans and her family when she tied the knot with the Dubai-based businessman on Saturday, after a whirlwind romance

She said: 'I am very happy for my son and that he is in love, whoever they are. I have my thoughts about Katie but I don't want to broadcast them.

'It is unfair to judge people. I will not have a bad word to say about my son or Katie. As a mother I will defend my son! As long as they are happy together that's all that matters.'

While the mother-of-two added: 'No, I've not met her yet but hope to soon. We have been speaking a lot.'

Trisha, who is described as an 'international legend' in her 30-year career as a clairvoyant and medium, described Lee as a 'good looker,' adding: 'He takes after his mother!'

While she insisted that contrary to reports, her son had only been married once before and not twice as previously thought.

She insisted that Lee had never been married to health and fitness coach Dina Taji, explaining: 'She was never his wife, just his girlfriend. They were never married.'

But she declined to say whom her mysterious son had married and divorced before settling down with Katie - who has been married three times previously.

Trisha had previously told pals online that Lee was engaged to Palestinian-born and Qatari-raised Dina, 41, whom he met in the gym in Dubai at the start of 2020.

While she insisted that contrary to reports, her son had only been married once before and not twice as previously thought, having never been married to Dina Taji (pictured with Lee)

She boasted about how he went all out to lure the beauty by winning over her family and said he had called Dina 'a beautiful human being' and gushed 'she’s my person I love her unconditionally'.

'They're such beautiful human beings really, they are, that's the first thing and I fell in love with them as well so it's not like I fell in love with my wife I also fell in love with the family package deal.'

However, it has been revealed that the businessman proposed to Katie with the exact same Dubai hotel room, flowers and ring that he used to pop the question to girlfriend Alana Percival, just four months ago.

As well as rose petals and tealights spelling out 'Will you marry me' on the floor of the luxurious spa at the Jumeirah Burj Al Arab, both women were presented with a bouquet of roses, wrapped in the same brown paper.

Alana, who is the spitting image of Katie with tattoos, long hair extensions and fake tan, is understood to have invested in one of Lee’s companies, according to the reports.

She later reportedly called off the engagement after growing suspicious of Lee’s intentions.

A source told The Sun of Katie: 'Her friends hope she's smart enough to question his motives.'

Lee has been based in Dubai for 21 years and has documented his flash lifestyle on his social media channels, claiming to be a multimillionaire.

According to his Instagram profile, he is CEO of Aura Group Future Urban Travel 2027 as well as an 'Investor in Space X Hybrid Fitness', but many of his claims appear to be bogus.

Many of his beach snaps and gym selfies have been revealed to be heavily airbrushed and edited.

While many of the posts about his 'company' appear to be AI-generated, including one supposedly alongside billionaire Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk and a clip of Kim Kardashian signing some company merchandise.

Meanwhile, Katie's family are said to have been 'blindsided' and left 'completely horrified' by her shock fourth marriage, with her said to have only met Lee just days before the wedding.

The mother-of-five connected with Lee, originally from Manchester, on social media, before she flew out to Dubai and said they bought their wedding rings - hers a diamond Cartier band - before they even met.

She told The Sun: 'How I met Lee was esoteric, we connected [by] both checking each others’ socials and quickly realised "wow this is for me"…in the old fashioned way, first by words which captured us both.

'That evolved deeper as we connected further within days [getting] matching tattoos, and then both deciding to buy rings for the other.

'All this without even meeting, we let fate but you could [say] destiny decide. I’m just so happy with my person that is just as happy as I am. What we have, they haven’t even invented the words.'

The TV personality added that Lee 'has the best version' of herself.

However, an insider close to the family said Katie's mother Amy and her five children - Harvey, 23, Junior, 20, Princess, 18, Jett, 12, and Bunny, 10 - were all left completely in the dark about her wedding.

They told the publication: 'Kate’s family are dumbstruck. To see she had got engaged after flying to Dubai – literally just after she had arrived was crazy.

'The fact she has now married him the following day is even more shocking. No one knows who Lee is, they know nothing about him.'

They added Katie has 'a lot of questions to answer to when she comes home'.

Katie has previously been engaged eight times and has three ex husbands - Peter Andre, 52, Alex Reid, 50, and Kieran Hayler, 38.

While her romance with Lee came just days after it was revealed that the reality star had split from her boyfriend of two years, JJ Slater.

Sources told the Daily Mail that the news also came as a complete shock to the MAFS UK star, 32, who is currently in Miami with his family while 'healing his broken heart'.

Last week, the Daily Mail revealed that Katie ended her romance with JJ, which began in February 2024, after realising she didn't see a future with him.

Insiders say cracks in their relationship had become 'too obvious to ignore' in recent months, despite Katie speaking of them potentially having a child and the pair spending Christmas together.

A source previously told the Daily Mail: 'Katie has had doubts for some time about whether JJ is husband material, but she hoped those concerns would fade.

'Instead, her fears only grew, and she's now accepted the relationship will not end with her walking down the aisle for a fourth time.

'JJ was left disappointed and has already packed his bags and moved back to his home in Essex. He genuinely saw a future with Katie, but it seems she ultimately had a very different outlook.

The Real Husbands of Katie Price

In the decades since she first rose to fame, Katie Price has enjoyed – and quite likely endured – a decidedly busy love life that has seen her walk down the aisle three times before heading to divorce court in equal measure. Here's a look at the trio with whom she exchanged 'I dos'... and 'I don'ts':

PETER ANDRE (2005 - 2009)

The nation got to watch love blossom between the pair when they starred alongside one another on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here back in 2004. The flying sparks soon became nuptials, with blushing bride Katie and her erstwhile pop hunk beau tying the knot at Highclere Castle (the grand Berkshire estate of Downton Abbey fame) in September 2005. Katie, who was already mother to son Harvey (born in 2002 following a romance with former footballer Dwight Yorke), soon started a family with her new husband. The couple welcomed son Junior in 2005, while daughter Princess followed in 2007. Creation between the pair also came artistically, with the release of reality programmes, a failed talk show and a foray into the music world. However, after four years of securing their position as the Ken and Barbie of reality TV and glossy magazine deals, the pair announced in 2009 that they were going their separate ways.

ALEX REID (2010 - 2012)

Katie soon switched her romantic allegiance from a onetime ab-bearing pop heartthrob to musclebound MMA fighter Alex Reid. The two met at Michelle Heaton's 30th birthday party at London's Cafe de Paris. But shortly after they got together, Katie dumped Alex on live TV, only for him to win her back and the pair go from strength to strength. Weeks after proudly cheering her man on to a win on the 2010 edition of Celebrity Big Brother (also featuring none other than her ex-boyfriend Dane Bowers), Katie jetted off to Las Vegas to tie the knot with her new partner in February 2010 after just seven months of dating – and nine months after divorcing Peter. Following their Sin City sojourn, the pair returned to their native UK, where they had a formal ceremony – which was filmed for a TV series. However, after just 11 months of marriage, the pair announced they were splitting and their divorce was finalised in March 2012. While Katie declared at the time that she married Alex 'too soon', she would later go on to reveal that a major factor in their split was his cross-dressing alter-ego Roxanne.

KIERAN HAYLER (2013 - 2021)

Showing herself to be a true woman of the times, Katie embarked on a romance with former stripper Kieran after the two met on the now-defunct Blackberry Messenger service in 2012. And just two months after altering the paths of their lives via those thumb-tapped fateful opening messages, the twosome would go on to exchange nuptials in the Caribbean. Kieran proposed to a thrilled Katie on Christmas Day 2012, and just three weeks later, the pair would be pronounced husband and wife in the idyllic shores of the Bahamas on January 16, 2013. They had their marriage blessed in Weston-super Mare, and in the months that followed, it appeared that Katie had finally found her happily ever after. They welcomed son Jett in August 2013, and daughter Bunny in August 2014. But Katie's world came crashing down in 2014, when she discovered that Kieran had cheated on her with her close friend of 20 years, Jane Pountney, and was enjoying a fling with another of her pals, Chrissy Thomas. After publicly lashing out at all parties involved (and naming her pet pigs after her friends-turned-foes), Katie appeared determined to make things work when she renewed her vows with Kieran in 2015. But alas, it would not turn out to be third time lucky for Katie, as the pair split in 2018 amid even more cheating allegations. Their 'amicable' divorce was finalised in early 2021.
