‘King Richard’ Director Reinaldo Marcus Green, ‘Rental Family’ Helmer Hikari and ‘Zone of Interest’ Producer Ewa Puszczyńska Set for Berlin Jury

The Berlin Film Festival has announced the full roster of its main jury members that will comprise U.S.-based directors Reinaldo Marcus Green (“King Richard”) and Hikari (“Rental Family”), and  “The Zone of Interest” producer Ewa Puszczyńska, alongside Wim Wenders who is the event’s previously announced competition jury president.

The main jury members are: Nepalese director Min Bahadur Bham, whose “Shambala” (2024) was the first film from Nepal to compete for the Golden Bear at the Berlinale; South Korean actress Bae Doona, whose many roles include turns in Bong Joon-ho’s “Barking Dogs Never Bite” and Park Chan-wook’s “Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance”; Indian director and producer Shivendra Singh Dungarpur (“Celluloid Man,” “The Immortals”); U.S. screenwriter, director and producer Reinaldo Marcus Green, whose sports drama “King Richard (2021) — starring Will Smith — earned six Oscar nominations; Los Angeles-based Japanese director, writer, and producer Hikari, whose second feature, “Rental Family,” starring Brendan Fraser, premiered last year in Toronto; and Polish producer Ewa Puszczyńska, whose long list of illustrious credits, besides Jonathan Glazer “The Zone of Interest,” also includes Jasmila Žbanić’s “Quo Vadis, Aida?”

The Berlinale also announced the full roster of juries for its other sections.

The jury of the new Perspectives section dedicated to first works is made up of Moroccan screenwriter and director Sofia Alaoui; German director and screenwriter Frédéric Hambalek; and Dorota Lech, director of Poland’s New Horizons International Film Festival.

The Berlinale Shorts jury is made up of: Germany-based Syrian director Ameer Fakher Eldin; Austrian journalist Stefan Grissemann; and prominent German artist Gabriele Stötzer.

The Documentary Award Jury members are: Berlin-based director Lemohang Mosese (“This Is Not a Burial”; U.S,  film scholar, critic and professor emerita at University of California B Ruby Rich; and Indian director Shaunak Sen (“Cities of Sleep,” “All That Breathes”).
