Visit Films has acquired international sales rights to U.S. film “Mouse,” which will have its world premiere in the Panorama section at the Berlin Film Festival, and will also screen at the European Film Market.

The film, which is directed by Kelly O’Sullivan (“Ghostlight”) and Alex Thompson (“Saint Frances,” “Rounding,” “Ghostlight”), is represented in the U.S. by Jessica Lacy and Bart Walker at Gersh.

The film stars Academy Award nominee and Tony winner Sophie Okonedo (“Hotel Rwanda,” “The Secret Life of Bees”), Katherine Mallen Kupferer (“Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret,” “Ghostlight”), Chloe Coleman (“Avatar: The Way of Water,” “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves”), Tara Mallen (“Ghostlight”), Iman Vellani (“The Marvels”), and David Hyde Pierce (“Fraiser”).

The film follows Callie and Minnie’s relationship, which is suddenly upended at the start of the summer before their senior year of high school. Left rudderless without her charismatic best friend, Minnie starts to form a complicated friendship with Callie’s mother.

The film was produced by Chelsea Krant (“Nickel Boys,” “Ghostlight”), Pierce Cravens (“Oh Hello,” “Ghostlight,” “Saint Frances”) and Alex Thompson (“Rounding,” “Ghostlight”), with Abigail Rose Solomon, Bonnie Comley (“Titanic: The Musical”), Stewart F. Lane (“Titanic: The Musical”), Steven A. Jones (“The Harvest”), Ian Keiser (“Saint Frances,” “Ghostlight,” “Alchemist’s Cookbook”) and Alex Wilson (“Ghostlight,” “Rounding”). Company credits are O’Sullivan and Thompson’s Little Engine, Metropolitan Entertainment, Rosalind Productions and Runaway Train.

O’Sullivan’s first screenplay, “Saint Frances,” premiered at SXSW and won the audience award and special jury prize for breakthrough voice in 2019. She was named one of Filmmaker Magazine’s 25 New Faces of Independent Film, and was part of Film at Lincoln Center’s 2019 Artist Academy.

O’Sullivan wrote and co-directed with Thompson “Ghostlight,” which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2024 and was named one of the Top 10 Best Independent Films by the National Board of Review. It is on Hulu now after a theatrical release, distributed by IFC Films. The film was nominated for both Gotham and Independent Spirit Awards.

Thompson directed and produced “Saint Frances.” His sophomore feature, “Rounding,” premiered at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival and was recently distributed by Music Box Films.
