Nicki Minaj is standing behind her man.
The Pink Friday rapper is set to appear at a Treasury Department event Wednesday, January 28, in support of President Donald Trump. Minaj is just one of the many celebrities scheduled to attend the summit, with Cheryl Hines, Curb Your Enthusiasm star and wife of Health Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr., and "Mr. Wonderful" himself, Shark Tank's Kevin O'Leary, all slated to speak at the event alongside Trump and Secretary Scott Bessent.
The summit is being held to promote the launch of "Trump Accounts," which, per the Trump Accounts website, is a "new, tax-advantaged, custodial-style investment account for children under 18, launching on July 5, 2026." These IRAs are designed for long-term growth, and will feature a government-seeded $1,000 contribution for children born between 2025-2028. The Trump child saving accounts will have a $5,000 annual limit, per the IRS.
Account holders will not be able to withdraw money from the account until they're 18, and only for specific purchases, like funding their education, starting a business, buying a home, or retirement.
Minaj, who has shocked fans with her support of the MAGA movement in the last year, confirmed her attendance in a post on X, calling the Trump Accounts program the "true meaning of paying it forward."
Early financial literacy & financial support for our children will give them a major head start in life. In some cases, they will end up teaching their very own parents how to invest & what to invest in. This makes me very happy.
Nicki Minaj's appearance at the Treasury Department summit is her latest move in support of Trump, with the singer-rapper appearing at Turning Point USA's AmericaFest alongside Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, last month, where she praised the president.
I have the utmost respect and admiration for our president. I don't know if he even knows this, but he's given so many people hope.
While the specific details of the summit have not yet been made public, it will be streamed on X. In addition to launching Trump Accounts, according to a release from the Treasury Department, the summit will also include policy briefings and expert discussions, as well as guidelines from the administration on next steps and how these accounts will be implemented.
The summit will convene senior administration officials, everyday Americans, and key stakeholders to outline how Trump Accounts work, discuss projected economic impacts, and emphasize the administration’s commitment to expanding financial opportunity for American families.
In an effort to garner more public attention to the program, Bessent shared that there will also be a commercial promoting Trump Accounts that will air during next month's Super Bowl, shortly after the national anthem.
