In over three years at Collider, senior author Jake has now penned over 2500 articles covering a wide range of TV and film for the resources, lists, utilities, news, and interview teams. Alongside interviewing stars such as Selin Hizli, Rose Ayling-Ellis, Harlan Coben, and Chelsea Peretti, Jake was lucky enough to visit the set of Aardman and Netflix's Wallace and Gromit: A Vengeance Most Fowl in 2024, getting the chance to chat with four-time Academy Award winner Nick Park and Merlin Crossingham. Jake has also worked for other publications, including Agents of Fandom

The world of Outlander, one of the finest examples of a franchise done right on modern television, looks set to continue expanding its horizons following the success of the recent spin-off, Outlander: Blood of My Blood. A lot was riding on Blood of My Blood proving popular, especially with plenty of skepticism simmering in the fanbase leading up to its debut. Starz had faith in the project and renewed it in June 2025, before the first season had even premiered. Plenty of critical and audience acclaim later, including an 87% score on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, and excitement for Season 2 continues to build.

Production on Season 2 was completed just before Christmas, and Jeremy Irvine, who portrays Henry Beauchamp, has promised fans in a new interview that they are in for a "much more epic" sophomore season. "It's all in the can, ready to go," Irvine said, adding, "And it's much more epic. I think because the first season went down so well, they sort of really gave us the reins, I think." He continued, "And yeah, the showrunner, Matt Roberts, has produced something that is... It's just huge, the scale is massive, and it's really gone up a level – so I hope people like it."

A synopsis for Blood of My Blood reads:

"Outlander: Blood of My Blood is a romantic saga that unfolds across time. From the battlefields of World War I to the rugged Highlands of 18th century Scotland, two fated couples must defy the forces that seek to tear them apart, intersecting in surprising and unforeseen ways."

What Will 'Outlander: Blood of My Blood' Season 2 Be About?

After the shocking cliffhanger finale of Season 1, fans are desperate to learn what Season 2 is about. However, besides confirmation that it is "much more epic" and has "really gone up a level," cards are being kept close to Roberts and co's chests. What we do is some of the names confirmed for the second season, which, alongside the aforementioned Irvine, include Julia Moriston (Hermione Corfield), Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy), Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater), Jocasta Cameron (Maria Doyle Kennedy), Ned Gowan (Conor MacNeill), Malcom (Jhon Lumsden), and the recently wedded Dougal MacKenzie (Graham McTavish) and Maura Grant (Bobby Rainsbury).

Outlander: Blood of My Blood is streaming now on Starz. For more updates, make sure to stay tuned to Collider.
