He has reviewed shows across different genres. His favorite types of articles to write are exciting news updates about shows and episodic reviews of the same. He might say he doesn't have a favorite show, but he has watched The Wire, Shameless, The Big Bang Theory, and The Blacklist more than once. Find him on X tweeting about something random that occurred to him about a TV show or the industry.

With his time as Jamie Fraser on the romance series Outlander coming to an end, Sam Heughan is moving on to other projects. A new report reveals that the actor has joined the cast of Embassy, a new series starring Anna Kendrick and J.K. Simmons. In the geopolitical thriller, Heughan plays Connor Wright, a British SAS soldier. Created and written by Rom Lotan, Embassy has also added Christian Alvart (Dogs of Berlin) and John Sctrickland as directors. The former will direct two episodes, and the latter will handle the remaining ones.

Embassy's plot sounds like The Diplomat meets The Siege as the US embassy in London is invaded. Kendrick plays a "sharp but resourceful American diplomat who faces an impossible choice to protect the U.S. Ambassador (Simmons) or follow his orders to exfiltrate a high-value asset when armed mercenaries storm the U.S. Embassy in London." She must rely on her own intellect and instincts while leaning on her ex-fiance, Connor, who has been hardened by battle. Embassy does not have a network or streaming service attached, even with production set to commence in February. It will be filmed in London and Cologne. Meanwhile, fans will see Heughan as Jamie Fraser one last time.

'Outlander' Returns for Its Eighth and Final Season

Starz has set March 6 as the premiere date for the final season of Outlander. As Season 8 begins, "Jamie and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) soon find the war has followed them home to Fraser's Ridge, now a thriving settlement that has grown and flourished in their absence. With new arrivals and changes made during their years away, the Frasers are confronted with the question of what they are willing to sacrifice for the place they call home and, more importantly, what they would sacrifice to stay together. While the Frasers keep a united front against outside intruders, family secrets finally coming to light threaten to tear them apart from the inside. Although they've left the war for America's freedom behind, their fight for Fraser's Ridge has only just begun," the official season logline reads.

Outlander once again makes a slight change to its iconic opening theme song in the final season. The new season features a rendition of The Skye Boat Song performed by Scottish native Annie Lennox. She joins past performers Raya Yarbrough, Griogair, and the late Sinéad O'Connor, who have breathed life into the 19th-century Jacobite lament. The opening sequence previews what's on the horizon for Clan Fraser in the final season.

Outlander returns on March 6. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates on Embassy.
