Today is a great day for Paradise fans. Hulu has finally released the first official trailer for Paradise Season 2, which will premiere on February 23. The show just wrapped up last year in March, and now, less than one year later, fans finally get to find out what’s been happening in the outside world. Shailene Woodley and Thomas Doherty have joined the Season 2 cast and will play characters outside the Paradise bunker, and the new trailer also confirms the return of James Marsden as President Cal Bradford. Sterling K. Brown is also returning as Agent Xavier Collins.

Hulu has released an official synopsis for Paradise Season 2:

“Xavier searches for Teri out in the world and learns how people survived in the three years since The Day. Back in Paradise, the social fabric frays as the bunker deals with the aftermath of Season 1, and new secrets are uncovered about the city’s origins.”

In addition to Woodley, Doherty, Brown, and Marsden, Paradise Season 2 also stars Julianne Nicholson, Sarah Shahi, Nicole Brydon Bloom, Krys Marshall, Enuka Okuma, Aliyah Mastin, Percy Daggs IV, and Charlie Evans. Jon Beavers will also guest star. The show was written and created for television by Dan Fogelman (This Is Us).

Paradise was last year’s unexpected smash hit. When Hulu released the first episode of the post-apocalyptic thriller, fans were hooked. It continued to pick up strong reviews while finding a bigger audience, and it even scored a Season 2 renewal before the conclusion of Season 1. Paradise Season 1 concluded on a cliffhanger ending, but fans fortunately don’t have to wait to see how people outside the bunker have survived in the three years since The Day.

Dan Fogelman Knows When ‘Paradise’ Is Going To End

Even before the release of Season 1, Paradise creator Dan Fogelman has confirmed that he has a three-season plan for the show. Collider’s Steve Weintraub caught up with Fogelman late last year and asked if this plan had changed at all, but he said he’s sticking firm with Season 3 being the endpoint. He has even admitted that Disney asked him if he could squeeze any more episodes out of the show, but he says he feels it's best to stick to his original plan than draw things out.

Check out the first official trailer for Paradise Season 2 above and catch up on the first season on Hulu before February 23.
