Patrick Dempsey's brand new action thriller series has officially arrived, premiering its first episode on Sunday, January 25, after the NFC Championship Game on Fox.

Dempsey, immortalized for his role on Grey's Anatomy and recent star of the promising Paramount+ original series Dexter: Original Sin, has taken on what is being called his most daring role yet as an aging assassin.

Patrick Dempsey's New Thriller Just Premiered – What It's About

Dempsey stars in the brand new crime action thriller series Memory of A Killer, which just dropped its series premiere. Inspired by the 2003 Belgian film The Memory of a Killer, the 10-part series features Dempsey's protagonist, Angelo Doyle, an experienced hitman who receives an early-onset Alzheimer's diagnosis.

Angelo has always been able to keep his dark and violent professional life separate from his loving family life, but due to the increased symptoms of his condition, he struggles to maintain that fine line. Once the two worlds start to collide, Angelo inadvertently puts his family in danger and must do everything within his power to keep them safe.

Dempsey leads the cast of Memory of A Killer and is joined by a strong supporting ensemble that includes Michael Imperioli (The Sopranos), Odeya Rush (Lady Bird), Richard Harmon (The 100), Gina Torres (Suits), and more. Following the series debut on Sunday, January 25, and an episode 2 drop the following day, new episodes of Memory of A Killer will be released every Monday on Fox and will be available to stream on Hulu on Tuesdays.

Memory Of A Killer Is A Must-Watch For All Thriller Fans

Memory Of A Killer with Patrick Dempsey

If you're a fan of modern hitman/assassin series like The Day of the Jackal, consider Memory of a Killer a must-watch this week. Early reviews have been mostly positive, with Collider calling the series a "hitman masterclass" and "unforgettable." Part of what makes Memory of a Killer so engaging is Dempsey's lead performance, convincingly playing two very opposite sides of the same character.

Memory of a Killer also works due to the strong chemistry between Angelo and Dutch (Imperioli), who plays Angelo's handler. Although Dutch has known Angelo for years, he never met his family, as Angelo kept these two worlds apart. That all begins to change as Memory of a Killer unfolds, even as Angelo takes out targets in New York City's shadowy underworld and gangs and criminals.

Dempsey fans and hitman thriller aficionados should give this new show a shot this week, available to watch on Fox and stream on Hulu.
