2026 may end up proving to be a divisive year for PlayStation Plus. The monthly Essential free games for January were delivered in the form of Need for Speed Unbound, Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, and Core Keeper, while Resident Evil Village headlines the Extra lineup ahead of Resident Evil Requiem.
Later this week will see the official reveal of PlayStation Plus Essential's free games for February, but ahead of this we got a sneak peek at one of the games to expect. This comes via reputable industry insider billbil-kun. I'd usually say you need to take any leak with a pinch of salt, but it's worth noting bilbil-kun has a 100% success rate with leaking PlayStation Plus games going back years. I'm not sure how Sony hasn't sent them to leaker jail yet, but I remain thankful for their service.
PlayStation Plus' First Free Game For February 2026 Has Leaked
This one may prove divisive
According to our leaker, the first freebie for PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers is the boxing game Undisputed. For those that aren't familiar, Undisputed was billed as something of a spiritual successor to Fight Night. Released in 2024, it didn't exactly hit the same heights as the series it was inspired by. Over on Metacritic the game has a 70 critic score and a user score of 4.8, so I'm not sure this is going to be the most welcome addition.
Billbil-kun warned in a cryptic post that 2026 may see a drop in quality for PlayStation Plus. It's unclear whether they're basing this on further insider knowledge they've yet to share, or if they're just going off what's already been announced.
For comparison, this is what the last few February PS Plus lineups have looked like:
February 2024
- Foamstars (PS4 & PS5)
- Rollerdrome (PS4 & PS5)
- Steelrising (PS5)
February 2023
- Destiny 2: Beyond Light (PS4 & PS5)
- Evil Dead: The Game (PS4 & PS5)
- OlliOlli World (PS4 & PS5)
- Mafia: Definitive Edition (PS4)
February 2022
- Planet Coaster: Console Edition (PS5)
- Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep: A Wonderlands One-Shot Adventure (PS4)
- EA Sports UFC 4 (PS4 & PS5)
February 2021
- Control: Ultimate Edition (PS4)
- Concrete Genie (PS4)
- Destruction AllStars (PS5)
