A new PlayStation Plus addition to the catalog can grant you over 100 hours of gameplay if you choose to play it, and it may be a worthwhile use of your time. Sony’s subscription service is getting new title options every so often. For example, the free monthly PS Plus games in January 2026 are Need For Speed Unbound, Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, and Core Keeper, titles that are available for all members to claim.
These are the free monthly games, but members of the Extra and Premium tiers often get expansions to the available catalog. The extra free PS Plus January games were announced a few days ago, and they include titles like Resident Evil Village, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead, and Ridge Racer. There is one, however, that stands out.
This PlayStation Plus Freebie Will Take Up Some Time
Expeditions: A MudRunner Game Has Over 100 Hours Of Content
Now, you can play a new addition to the catalog, Expeditions: A MudRunner Game, for free on PS Plus. The title was added to the service as part of the Extra or Premium tiers, so if you’re a member of either, you’ll be able to download and play it so long as it remains in the catalog. Members of the Essential tier do not have access to this game.
Expeditions: A MudRunner Game is a long title. According to HowLongToBeat, you can beat the game in approximately 71 hours, and if you focus solely on your main goals, it can be finished in 50 hours. However, if you’re a completionist going after everything, there are 101 hours of content available in the game. This game helps increase the playtime of the January PS Plus games to over 300 hours.
There Are Plenty Of Great Games This Month
PS Plus Also Includes Hits Like Resident Evil & Like A Dragon
Even though Expeditions’ playtime represents around ⅓ of the total playtime among all the January PS Plus freebies, there is still a lot of content within the other titles, a lot of which is remarkable. Resident Evil Village, for example, is a critically acclaimed survival horror game, and it is a perfect title to play ahead of the release of Resident Evil Requiem, the next big entry in the franchise.
Meanwhile, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is the latest core entry in the Yakuza series – for reference, 2025 saw the release of Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, but that game is considered a spin-off. Infinite Wealth is well praised by critics and players alike, with an impressive 89 Metascore and 8.5 user score on Metacritic.
Both these titles are simple examples of how great this month is for the gaming service. Aside from their quality, they should also keep you entertained for hundreds of hours, all without having to pay any extra fees aside from your PlayStation Plus membership.
