Ryan Northrup is a Senior Staff Writer on ScreenRant's Movie & TV News team, where he has authored nearly 5,000 articles, including features and reviews. A graduate of McMaster University, Ryan began his career in public relations before attending Vancouver Film School. There, he built lasting industry connections and optioned a feature film screenplay.

As audiences await the upcoming season 4 of Reacher, the Prime Video action show has once again broken into the streamer's top 10. Based on the book series by author Lee Child, the hit series premiered in 2022, quickly becoming one of Prime Video's most popular originals.

Now, about 11 months after the premiere of season 3, Reacher currently stands as the tenth most popular TV show on the streaming service. The series falls behind other series like Spartacus: House of Ashur, The Summer I Turned Pretty, and Yo soy Betty la fea. As of writing, Fallout occupies the number one spot.

Reacher's newfound position in the Prime Video daily top 10 follows season 3's exceptional viewership performance. Season 3, which sees Alan Ritchson's hulking titular hero returning to infiltrate an arms-trafficking ring in Maine, accumulated 54.6 million viewers in its first 19 days of availability, a 0.5% boost over season 2.

The season was also a success with critics. Every season has been warmly received, and Reacher season 3 reviews continued this trend, with the season as a whole earning a 98% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Reacher has been hailed as a perfect "dad show," with its morally uncomplicated hero and bone-crunching action. While there's no one clear factor that is responsible for pushing the show back into the Prime Video top 10, it's possible viewers are looking for something easy and satisfying to watch during what can be a challenging month.

The show's resurgence comes as audiences await season 4 and the Neagley spinoff show. Neither one has a release date just yet, but Neagley is expected to arrive earlier in 2026, with season 4 of the flagship show, which wrapped filming last November, likely to follow in the back half of the year.

Reacher season 4 is now confirmed to be adapting the events of Child's Gone Tomorrow, which revolves around the eponymous protagonist witnessing a suicide in the New York City subway. The hero is then drawn into a complex and dangerous mystery as he attempts to get to the truth of what happened.

Considering the response to seasons 1 through 3, season 4 is already poised to be a major performer for Prime Video. It's less clear how Neagley will be received. This spinoff isn't based on a Child novel, so its plot remains shrouded in mystery, but Ritchson is confirmed to be reprising his role in more of a supporting capacity.

Though questions remain about the expansion of the franchise, it's clear that love for the base show remains strong. Release date announcements for Reacher season 4 and Neagley likely aren't far off, and viewers are evidently enjoying revisiting the story so far during the wait.
