In over three years at Collider, senior author Jake has now penned over 2500 articles covering a wide range of TV and film for the resources, lists, utilities, news, and interview teams. Alongside interviewing stars such as Selin Hizli, Rose Ayling-Ellis, Harlan Coben, and Chelsea Peretti, Jake was lucky enough to visit the set of Aardman and Netflix's Wallace and Gromit: A Vengeance Most Fowl in 2024, getting the chance to chat with four-time Academy Award winner Nick Park and Merlin Crossingham. Jake has also worked for other publications, including Agents of Fandom

After two critically acclaimed seasons, with the second receiving a perfect 100% score on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, there were high hopes heading into the third season of Paramount+'s School Spirits. Left desperate for more following a cliffhanger Season 2 finale, and after being promised a third season that was "a lot more scary" in an interview with Collider at Sundance 2026, fans were greeted on Wednesday, January 28, by a trio of top-tier opening episodes.

Following these opening episodes, it will come as little surprise to learn that School Spirits has frightened the streaming competition and found its way onto the Paramount+ top ten in the U.S. But how high has it climbed? At the time of writing, the series has returned in third place on the charts, losing out on top spot to the second-placed South Park and Taylor Sheridan's Landmanthe current chart topper. Not only has School Spirits placed inside the top ten in the U.S., but it has also done so globally, currently sitting in seventh place. Season 3 continues on February 4, 2026, with the Zach Dodes-penned, hilariously titled fourth episode, "The Bereftest Club." For anyone yet to catch this acclaimed, Peyton List-led series, a synopsis reads:

"Maddie is a teen girl stuck in the afterlife investigating her own mysterious disappearance; she goes on a crime-solving journey as she adjusts to school in the afterlife, but the closer she gets to the truth, the more secrets and lies she discovers."

'School Spirits' Season 3 Has Received Rave Reviews

Hope was high heading into Season 3 of School Spirits that the supernatural teen drama could continue its near-perfect run. Thankfully, according to critics, the series has hit the mark once again. In Jasneet Singh's review for Collider, she awarded Season 3 an impressive 8/10, praising a seamless tonal shift, List's strong lead performance, and "confident and clear" storytelling. Singh wrote, "For a series that prioritized teenage stories through a supernatural lens, it's a bold move to strike out into more overt horror, but it's working in the show's favor. If the series continues down this path, Season 3 could potentially become the strongest and scariest installment yet."

The hit supernatural series School Spirits is streaming on Paramount+ and returns on February 4, 2026. Make sure to stay tuned to Collider for all the latest streaming stories.
