Evan Handler has revealed that there may be life in the Sex and the City franchise yet.
The American actor, who played Harry Goldenblatt in the drama and its spin-offs, made telling comments while attending the Australian Open in Melbourne this week.
The Sex and the City reboot, called And Just Like That..., was abruptly cancelled last year, but Evan says there's a chance to revisit the show's iconic characters.
The 65-year-old explained that And Just Like That... 'couldn't go on any longer because someone key to that happening didn't want it to' while hinting those people may have been creator Michael Patrick King or lead actress Sarah Jessica Parker.
Handler made it clear that the door is always open for another reboot, or a film.
'I never thought there'd be a third film and then it became this instead and if there's some other incarnation or some other one time thing I wouldn't be surprised, just because they have continued to come back to it,' he told the Herald Sun.

The actor however conceded the cast were getting 'too old' to continue with the roles much longer.
Handler then made the surprising claim that many of the cast members aren't close friends off set.
'Is it sad we're not all able to be together? I don't know how to answer that because I don't have relationships with most of those people outside the show,' he said.
Handler explained that his co-star Kristin Davis, who plays his on-screen wife Charlotte York, 'never really socialised outside of that except for one dinner together.'
He added: 'Sarah Jessica I have known for decades through a theatre company in New York but we never chatted or had lunch or anything so it's not strange to me that those people might or might not have relationships.'
Last year, it was revealed that Sarah Jessica Parker could reprise her iconic role as Carrie Bradshaw yet again after the end of the Sex and the City reboot, And Just Like That...
The 'woke' show - which saw Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis reprise their SATC roles as Carrie Bradshaw, Miranda Hobbes and Charlotte York for three seasons- ended with a panned two part finale which saw the fashionista embracing being 'on her own.'
After SJP, 60, gave a 'word salad' remark about whether the show would stay off-air, executive producer Elisa Zuritsky has teased that new episodes 'could happen' with baffled fans begging creators to let 'AJLT die.'

Zuritsky told TV Line when asked about a possible Carrie return: 'She's alive so it could happen.'
'Sarah Jessica Parker is [showrunner] Michael Patrick King's muse and the reason he says 'I've said goodbye before and I've come back' is because it's true.
'We serve at his pleasure. I am the eternal optimist. So I don't like to be too final about things, and life is long. I mean, we've all seen lots of things happen.'
She added she keeps notes on potential future storylines for Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte.
'And maybe one day we'll get to see that list come to life on our TV screens again,' she said.
The original show ran from 1998-2004 with two films in 2008 and 2010.
AJLT was first announced in January 2021 - 11 years after the panned movie, Sex and the City 2.
