The rumors shared about Star Wars Jedi 3 are numerous but some stick out more than others. Firstly, it's rumored the game will be much larger in scope than previous installments in the series. It's suspected the game will be a Star Wars open adventure and contain a large hub area for you to travel to and from. More planets, larger, more varied environments to explore and a non-linear path to progression all sound really appealing.

Storywise, Star Wars Jedi 3 is said to have a much darker tone than previous games. Considering how dark the previous two games got, this sounds intriguing. Perhaps getting to see the Jedi resistance being pushed to breaking point will allow for a more complex narrative. We'd love to see Cal Kestis lean more into his dark side and being up against a new central threat from a mysterious and ancient foe with links to the Jedi's past, should bring new challenges.

The rumors for Star Wars Jedi 3 also suggest that the gameplay itself will get a bit of an overhaul. More depth to the force powers you can unlock and a deeper focus on tactical, heavy combat. With smarter enemy AI expected, the challenge of taking down waves of storm troopers might become a Jabba-sized task. But when is Star Wars Jedi 3 coming out?

Without question, the release date tease that Star Wars Jedi 3 may launch as early as 2026 was the tastiest reveal. In fact, it's suspected it will release in the first half of this year, which would be quite an achievement. The logic behind it is that the timeline more or less lines up with the gap between the first and second game. We're almost three years since Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, so it makes sense to expect a new game soon.

Along with timing, rumor has it that Remedy (the team behind the franchise) has recently taken a growth spurt. Perhaps this could be a sign that they're all hands on deck and full steam ahead working on getting this title out soon? With no official announcements and not even a teaser to go on, the likelihood that we'll be playing as Cal Kestis in a new adventure game before the Fall seems unlikely.

Hopefully, we won't have too much longer to wait and see if these Star Wars rumors are true. An official announcement trailer from EA as soon as possible would be nice. At least we have Star Wars Genesis to keep us busy while we wait. Let's hope Star Wars Jedi 3 is not far, far away!
