Originally released on mobile devices in October of 2025, Duet Night Abyss is a free-to-play action RPG that sports a dual-narrative. It also benefited from a heavily scrutinized beta test period, during which fans pushed back against the gacha elements, some of which were rescinded.
Right now, fans are somewhat torn on Duet Night Abyss. Some find it a good companion or alternative to Genshin Impact, as evidenced by this user review: "This game has a lot of potential, but I just can't discount the fact that all of the heroes and weapons are free. Having spent way too much on Genshin this game is a dream come true."
Another user was impressed with the free-to-play nature of the game, considering it more generous than some others: "Over 600 hours before it came to Steam, it's a gacha game without the gacha.
