The date for the final episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert has been confirmed. Since it was shockingly canceled by CBS in July 2025, the network has maintained that the long-running late-night talk show, on air since 1993 and originally hosted by David Letterman, would conclude in the month of May 2026. Now, an exact date has been revealed.
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert will end on Thursday, May 21, Deadline has confirmed. Colbert shared the announcement while appearing on the rival talk show, Late Night with Seth Meyers, which is set to air tonight on Tuesday, January 27.
