Tara Lipinski Addresses Her Traitors Castmates Saying Her Name Wrong

The Traitors Issues Statement on “Cyberbullying” of Cast

The Traitors cast isn't being faithful to Tara Lipinski's name.

Viewers of the Peacock competition series have noticed that many of the former Olympic figure skater's costars on season four have been mispronouncing her name—referring to her as TAIR-uh as opposed to the accurate TAH-rah—despite her best efforts to correct them.

Commenting under a Jan. 25 TikTok in which creator Hope Sloop asked why nobody seems to know how to say Tara's name correctly, the gold medalist wrote, "At a certain point I just gave up."

Making the group's faux pas even more traitorous? Tara's longtime bestie and fellow figure skater Johnny Weir is also on the cast, but their fellow Traitors stars still didn't take their cues from him.

As Tara put it, "At least Johnny said my name right."

At the same time, perhaps the Olympic commentators' costars didn't follow Johnny's lead when it came to pronouncing Tara's name right because they didn't know how close they were outside of the show. 

As a matter of fact, it was actually part of the duo's strategy going into filming for The Traitors to act as if they barely knew one another.
