Things have cooled down over the last month at CBS, with many of the network’s fan-favorite series’ — including Fire Country — taking their well-deserved mid-season breaks. While the Max Thieriot-led and executive-produced procedural still has a few weeks of downtime, we officially know the title’s fate beyond what awaits the team in the next set of episodes. According to a new report, CBS has given the greenlight to Fire Country Season 5, allowing fans everywhere to take a deep sigh of relief knowing that the story will continue. The news comes following the previously made announcement back in December that its newly-released spin-off, Sheriff Country, which stars Morena Baccarin, was given an early renewal while still fresh into its debut season.
Fire Country’s renewal comes at the perfect time, as, just last week, the show’s dedicated following was hit with the gut punch after it was revealed that longtime showrunner, Tia Napolitano, would not be returning following Season 4. Over the last several days, the rumor mill has been working overtime, with speculation surrounding the show’s fate. Thankfully, the network didn’t leave us on the hook for too long with this one, and we’re grateful to know that the stories at Cal Fire will continue into another season.
