SPOILER ALERT: This post contains spoilers from “The Black Banquet,” Season 4, Episode 7 of “The Traitors,” now streaming on Peacock.
For weeks now, Alan Cumming has been raving about “The Traitors” episode 7, namely, “The Black Banquet,” and how it makes history. And, it did just that when the Traitors took out a Faithful in plain sight during Thursday’s episode. And for the first time ever, the cast found out immediately who was killed, not having to wait until the following morning over smoked salmon.
Traitor Lisa Rinna had to choose who she wanted to murder, and, somehow, have that person touch the amulet pinned to her elaborate outfit. She revealed during a confessional that she had narrowed it down to Kristen, Natalie and Yam Yam. Then, Alan came in to share the shocking twist — two vials would be brought in; if the victim of the murder drank the vial, they wouldn’t be murdered after all.
However, the moment he told the cast to discuss, madness ensued, and everyone began pointing fingers — some at Lisa, some at Stephen (who is finally getting air time!) — and no one could hear anyone else’s point. Ultimately, a very aggressive Natalie and Kristen drank the antidote. With that, the group was informed that it was actually Yam Yam who was murdered. Two masked figures came in and dragged him out of the dinner, but not before he could tell everyone that it was Lisa, because she kissed him on the cheek and air-kissed everyone else.
At breakfast, when the Traitors were finally alone, Lisa asked them for their help and support moving forward, since they hadn’t helped her at all the night before. They said yes, but almost immediately afterward, Rob proved he wasn’t going to do that; when chatting with a group a few moments later, he made sure they knew that Yam Yam was saying Lisa — and that Lisa was denying kissing him. He asked, why would Yam Yam lie on his way out?
The next day, it was time for the challenge, during which gold rocks had to be collected and put into a chest — either yours or someone else’s — at the top of a mountain. The six players with the most gold in their chest had the chance to earn a dagger, which would serve as an extra vote at the roundtable.
Lisa gave her gold to Stephen, which Colton immediately clocked. Colton, meanwhile, was closer than ever to Rob and together, they decided they were rallying against Lisa. The six players with the most gold were Colton, Erik, Mark, Natalie, Rob and Stephen. Rob’s chest was the most full, so he got an advantage; the others were given tablets — one of which had a dagger on it.
Rob questioned each of them and had to guess who was lying about having the dagger in front of them. If he guessed right, he could keep the dagger. He chose Natalie, and he was right. When the group arrived back at the castle, Rob told the group of six he had the dagger, and everyone made a pact to keep it a secret.
When it came time for the roundtable, most were torn between Lisa and Natalie. Rob made it very clear that he was not writing down Natalie’s name, and brought up Yam Yam calling out Lisa, asking everyone at the table, “Why would he lie?”
The dagger was not used or revealed at the roundtable, where Lisa and Natalie got the most votes. Candiace wrote down Rob’s name, stating that she was throwing away her vote because she didn’t think either of the women was a traitor, and seemingly, planting the seed in others’ minds that he may not be that innocent after all.
Ultimately, Lisa was sent home, and Colton and Rob couldn’t have been happier. Afterward, Colton told Johnny he was starting to look at Stephen next and later also brought up Candiace’s name. Rob then asked whether it could be a turret full of Housewives.
At the same time, Johnny told Candiace he was starting to look at Colton, since he was the first one to randomly bring up Lisa, as well as Rob, since he was so attached to Colton.
Needless to say, it’ll be exciting to see how Candiace and Rob continue to work in this game together or completely destroy the Traitors’ turret — and if a Faithful will be converted to a Traitor anytime soon.
