EXCLUSIVE: Theo Rossi, Mario Van Peebles and Derek Wilson are headlining the Ari Schlossberg directed and written vampire island feature Young Blood currently shooting in Key Largo, Florida.
The trio join previously announced Myles Truitt, Madison Wolfe, Marley Aliah, Genneya Walton, Alex Aiono and Mitchell Hoog in the WeBros Entertainment production.
Young Blood follows three college best friends who travel to Key Largo for what promises to be the best spring break ever … until they end up stranded on a deserted island being hunted by starved, bloodthirsty vampires. Rossi, Van Peebles and Wilson will play the vampire godfathers in the genre pic.
EPs on Young Blood are Matt Luber, Kelly Pendygraft and Brian Gottlieb. Celina and Sergio Borges Torrealba Carpi and Arvin Scott are also EPs. WeBros Entertainment’s Michael Weiss, Andy Weiss and Gregg Barbagallo are producing. Babacar Diene of Paradigm Agency is handling sales.
Andy Weiss co-wrote the George Gallo movie Middle Men, along with the director. He also wrote the Netflix Jamie Foxx sports drama Fight for ’84 and the Yann Demange-directed Matthew McConaughey thriller White Boy Rick, on which Michael Weiss was an EP. Michael Weiss produced Middle Men and also executive produced the recent Russell Crowe feature Beast in Me, and the Muzzle franchise starring Aaron Eckhart.
Rossi recently starred in HBO Max/DC series The Penguin, the Netflix movie Carry On, as well as the upcoming Come With Me opposite Ron Perlman, The Underneath: In Fortune’s Shadow with Michael Rooker, and The Saviors with Perlman and Adam Scott.
Van Peebles’ feature credits include Clint Eastwood’s Heartbreak Ridge, New Jack City, Ali, and the upcoming That One Beautiful Day opposite Mira Sorvino.
Wilson starred on the Hulu series Future Man, Prime Video’s The Boys, Gen V, Warner Bros/DC’s Birds of Prey movie, and the AMC series Preacher.
