Conjuring Annabelle vs Joker in DC KO Boss Battle Comic Preview

Fans of both super-scares and supervillains can now get their first official look at the Conjuring/DC crossover in store with the coming DC K.O.: Boss Battle, a special one-shot pitting the deadliest heroes and villains of the Justice League universe against combatants from beyond their reality. And while some might be eagerly awaiting the fight between Superman and Homelander, there are sure to be just as many paying the price of admission to watch The Joker take on Annabelle, the demonic doll who already leapt from the Conjuring series into a movie trilogy of her own.

Having already defied the cinematic odds and raked in over $250 million with her trilogy, it appears Annabelle is finally ready to try her hand at a new challenge: doing what Batman couldn't and putting Joker down for good. But the first preview page is all some fans will need for a "pinch me" moment, before the full showdown arrives on Wednesday, February 4th.

Once the shock wears off, enthusiastic horror buffs will have to make their actual predictions as to how this fight will go. In a fight to the death between Superman and Homelander, the squaring-off is straightforward enough (since so many of their powers are directly mirrored). But in the case of 'Joker vs Annabelle,' predicting the fight on paper is nowhere near as simple. After all, there are no actual superhuman abilities for Joker to rely upon in a fight, whereas Malthus, the demonic entity inhabiting Annabelle, has several tailor-made for this bout.

Being thrown through a wall through telekinetic force is nothing new for Joker, but the ability for a mere glance at Annabelle to trigger hallucinations or overwhelming fear could play a big part in the story. Because invading the mind of a normal person is one thing... but could Malthus be outmatched by the inner workings of a mind like Joker's? That's a question, frankly, we don't want to know the answer to just yet.
