Tom Holland is poised for a huge year, and it could vault him into an incredible top 10 chart if everything goes according to plan. While the British star has been acting since 2012's The Impossible, the movie that really put him on most people's radars was 2016's Captain America: Civil War, when he made his debut as Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The iconic role became a springboard for a massive and busy career for Holland. He's played Spider-Man in six movies already (in just six years, too). The actor was recruited by Pixar for an animated voice role, brought Nathan Drake to live-action for Uncharted, and headlined multiple projects for Apple TV+.
Thanks to the various roles he's had throughout the years, Holland has been positioned as one of Hollywood's biggest stars under 30. He has the box office receipts to back this up, with his movies already making over $11 billion. 2026 will see that total significantly increase thanks to his next projects.
Tom Holland Stars In The Odyssey & Spider-Man: Brand New Day This Summer
After a three-year break from headlining a new movie or TV show, Holland is poised to be one of the summer's biggest stars thanks to his incredible July. He'll appear in two of 2026's most anticipated movies with Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey on July 17 and Spider-Man: Brand New Day on July 31.
The latter sees Holland reprise his role as Peter Parker a.k.a. Spider-Man in the MCU. His fourth solo film and seventh overall appearance is the first time audiences will see his Marvel superhero since 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home, which shattered box office expectations on its path to grossing $1.9 billion after uniting the three live-action Spidey actors.
As for The Odyssey, Holland has one of the main roles, as he plays Telemachus, the son of Matt Damon's Odysseus. The adaptation of Homer's classic marks Nolan's first movie since Oppenheimer, which was a massive box office hit before becoming a celebrated, award-winning title.
Even though they'll come out just two weeks apart, there's every expectation that The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be among the year's biggest box office performers. With the star-studded cast and epic scope attached, Nolan's film could top $1 billion if it lives up to the hype. Meanwhile, Sony's MCU movie should be locked in for a $1+ billion haul.
Tom Holland Could Become A Top 10 Highest Grossing Actor If Both Are Box Office Hits
This makes it very possible that Holland will add over $2 billion to his career box office numbers should The Odyssey and Brand New Day succeed as expected. That'd give him an overall total north of $13 billion, with his cumulative gross as a lead could sit at around $12 billion then (via The Numbers).
That would be enough to move Holland into the all-time top 10 list of highest-grossing lead actors. Zoe Saldaña recently dethroned Scarlett Johansson from the top spot, and Holland currently sits at 14th with a $9.9 billion total. The final spot in the top 10 belongs to Dwayne Johnson ($11.4 billion).

This is not who Holland really needs to chase, though. Johnson has the Moana live-action remake coming out on July 10, so his total will keep climbing, with a $1 billion performance quite possible. There's even a chance Tom Hanks will enter the top 10 again if Toy Story 5 hits; he's currently 12th with $10.9 billion.
Holland probably needs to catch the eighth-highest-grossing actor, Vin Diesel ($12.043 billion), to secure a spot in the top 10. If The Odyssey matches Oppenheimer's performance ($975 million), Brand New Day would only need to make $1.1 billion to secure the star's placement.
Only time will tell if Tom Holland makes up that $2ish billion difference and adds some youth to the all-time top 10 highest-grossing actor chart.
