Top Chef winner Kelsey Barnard Clark was arrested Wednesday in Alabama after police say she crashed her car into a mailbox.

The Dothan chef and author, who won Season 16 of the cooking competition in 2019, was taken into custody following the incident in a local residential neighborhood.

Dothan Police Lieutenant Scott Owens told WTVY that officers responded to a call about a vehicle striking a mailbox on the 1300 block of Selkirk Drive and determined that Clark appeared to be under the influence.

Police say she was given field sobriety tests, including walking in a straight line and standing on one foot, which she reportedly struggled to complete.

Following the tests, Clark was arrested and booked into Dothan City Jail on suspicion of DUI.

Clark, who now serves as a judge on Netflix’s Next Gen Chef, owns the downtown Dothan restaurant KBC, and has penned three cookbooks: Southern Grit, Southern Get-Togethers and The Flavor of Fire.
