The Marvel Cinematic Universe keeps expanding in both film and TV, and in the latter, it has some exciting shows coming up in 2026 and beyond. The MCU is still the dominating universe in the superhero genre, now covering not only movies but also TV shows connected to the movies.

2026 will be a big year for the MCU with the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday, but it also has some key TV shows coming up. First was Wonder Man, released in January 2026, and it will be followed by other live-action and animated Marvel shows.

Luckily, the MCU’s TV plans go beyond 2026, and some shows are already in development, with some already projected for a 2027 release.

Daredevil: Born Again (Seasons 2 & 3)

Release Date: Season 2, March 4, 2026; Season 3 In Development

 Born Again season 2

Daredevil is one of the heroes who had his start in Netflix’s Marvel TV shows, which were later integrated into the MCU. Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock made his first official MCU appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home, followed by She-Hulk and Echo before getting his own TV show, Daredevil: Born Again.

Born Again is a continuation of the Netflix show and part of the MCU continuity, and sees Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) now as mayor of New York City, using his new position to target vigilantes. In season 2, Murdock forms a resistance group to fight back against Fisk and his anti-vigilante plans.

Joining Murdock this season is Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones in her first official MCU appearance after her own Netflix TV show and starring alongside Murdock in The Defenders. Daredevil: Born Again season 2 will arrive on March 24, 2026, with season 3 in development and projected for a March 2027 release.

The Punisher (TV Special)

Release Date: Mid-2026

Another character who had his start on Netflix’s Marvel shows is Frank Castle a.k.a. Punisher (Jon Bernthal), who also got his own show in 2017, which lasted two seasons, before joining the MCU in Daredevil: Born Again. Castle is here to stay, and this year, he will star in a still untitled TV special.

While plot details are also unknown at the moment, the Punisher special is expected to arrive in mid-2026, most likely attached to Spider-Man: Brand New Day, as Castle has a role in Spider-Man’s new movie.

X-Men ‘97 (Seasons 2 & 3)

Release Date: Season 2, Summer 2026; Season 3 In Development

X-Men ‘97 is a revival of X-Men: The Animated Series, regarded as one of the best animated TV shows of all time. X-Men ‘97 continues the story of the previous show, taking place a year later, following Xavier’s assassination attempt.

Xavier was taken to space to be healed by the Shi’ar Empire, and so X-Men ‘97 sees the rest of the team facing new challenges without their mentor and under the leadership of none other than Magneto. Season 1 was released in 2024 to critical acclaim, and season 2 is expected to arrive in the summer of 2026, while season 3 is in production.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man (Seasons 2 & 3)

Release Date: Season 2 Fall 2026; Season 3 Confirmed

Spider-Man has also gotten his own animated show, and, to the surprise of many, it’s part of the MCU, but with a twist, as it’s set in an alternate timeline from the main movies and shows from the MCU. That said, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man explores Peter Parker’s (voiced by Hudson Thames) origin story and his early days as Spider-Man.

In this timeline, Norman Osborn becomes Peter’s mentor, and Peter’s powers don’t come from a radioactive spider – instead, Peter got his Spider-Man abilities through a temporal paradox caused by Doctor Strange, who was time-traveling while fighting a symbiotic alien. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man was released in 2025 and was well-received by critics.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is set for a second and third season, with the former expected to arrive in late 2026 as part of the MCU’s Phase Six, while a third season is already in development.

VisionQuest

Release Date: Late 2026

Paul Bettany's White Vision looks puzzled in WandaVision

VisionQuest is the long-awaited spinoff of WandaVision and the return of Paul Bettany as Vision, though in his white form as seen at the end of WandaVision. The last time the audience saw Vision, he regained his memories and left to connect emotionally with his past and define his purpose.

At NYCC 2025, Bettany explained that Vision has the memories but not the emotions and feelings, and that’s where his journey is. Although a trailer hasn’t been released yet, the one shown at NYCC featured human versions of AI and other StarkTech characters, among them J.A.R.V.I.S. (James D’Arcy) and Ultron (James Spader).

That, and the show’s number of episodes (eight, like most of the MCU’s TV shows), is pretty much all that’s known about VisionQuest for now. As part of the MCU’s Phase Six, VisionQuest will be released in late 2026, and it’s worth mentioning that, at the time of writing, Bettany isn’t part of the confirmed cast of Avengers: Doomsday.

Marvel Zombies (Season 2)

Rumored

Marvel Zombies is an adult-animated miniseries and a spinoff of What If…? As such, Marvel Zombies is set in an alternate timeline introduced in What If…?, in which a virus turned most of the world’s population into zombies. This includes the Avengers, and so the show follows a group of survivors who discover the key to ending the plague.

Some of the Marvel characters featured in Marvel Zombies are Ms. Marvel, Ironheart, Kate Bishop, and Yelena Belova. Despite getting mixed reviews from critics, Marvel Zombies’ executive producer Brad Winderbaum told The Official Marvel Podcast in January 2026 (via Bleeding Cool) that a continuation of Marvel Zombies is in development, but admitted nothing has been greenlit yet.
