Zara Larsson has joked she's 'too old' for Leonardo DiCaprio while poking fun at his infamous 'age rule' and admitted he was her childhood crush.

The Swedish hitmaker, 28, made the blunt admission during a viral interview and when asked about her celebrity crush, she said: 'I don't have any celebrity crush at the moment. I only really had one my whole life, which is Leonardo DiCaprio.

'But now he's kinda old, isn't he? And I'm also too old for him,' she told in the clip shared by TikTok account @VT.

The singer referred to the old Hollywood joke that the Shutter Island star, 51, doesn't date women below the age of 25.

Fans were left in stitches and some even raved in the comment section praising her for being 'real', penning:

'I love how Zara is not adhering to the media training nonsense. It definitely makes her feel more real';

'Tbf Zara has been like this…her entire career lol';

'So real for that';

'That was such an unhinged response lol';

'This is funny af but I'd be so scared of possibly running into him at some event lmao'.

That comes after Zara recently called out fans who pitted her against Tate McRae with competitive comparisons.

It came while she supported the Greedy singer on her Miss Possessive Tour. Their final show took place in Los Angeles in September.

Taking to Instagram to share a selection of snaps from the shows, Larsson thanked McCrae for the opportunity to open for her.

She insisted they were 'just two pop girls who love and support each other.'

She wrote: 'It's a wrap on Miss Possessive tour! @tatemcrae thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your stage with me and my girls every night.

'I can't explain how much I've appreciated the opportunity to give the people a little taste of a Zara set. I'm speechless at the amount of praise I've been getting over these past few weeks from your wonderful fans and online.'

'With that being said, it's been strange seeing some people putting us against each other when we're just two pop girls who love and support each other backstage!

'Not only are you insanely talented, something we all can tell from seeing you on stage every night, but you have an incredible team around you.'

'The dancers, band, crew, team, drivers, and tech have been a joy to be around and I always feel like that says a lot about how a person works.

'You set the bar. You set the standard. You are a superstar. Just know, I will always have your back! Thank you for this experience!!!'
