Every year, photography pushes itself a little further—and 2025 absolutely delivered. The Society of Photographers, founded back in 1988, has officially revealed the winners of its Photographer of the Year 2025, and the level of talent on display is nothing short of unreal.
This year’s competition pulled in nearly 6,000 entries across 28 categories, turning the spotlight on photographers who know how to tell stories with precision, emotion, and serious technical skill. From jaw-dropping portraits to cinematic landscapes and powerful documentary moments, these 25 outstanding winners represent the sharpest work created by Society members throughout the year.
At the top of the list are three standout Photos of the Year, images that didn’t just impress—they sparked conversation. According to the judging panel, these winning photographs showed “outstanding skill, narrative depth, and execution,” rising clearly above an already elite field. In short, they hit hard and stayed memorable.
Beyond the headline winners, 2025 has been a massive year across the Society’s Monthly Image Competition, with thousands of submissions pouring in over the year. The prestigious 20×16″ Print Competition, held during the annual Convention, once again proved why it’s one of the most respected events in the photography world, drawing entries from across the globe.
Each category winner emerged from Gold Award–winning images, meaning every photo you see here already survived intense scrutiny. None of this would be possible without the Society’s dedicated panel of judges, whose expertise and time continue to shape one of photography’s most respected competitions.
These 25 winners don’t just capture moments—they define where photography stands right now.
