The multifunctional Vision Dock features a 1.96 inch touchscreen and combines charging, a remote controller, and recorder with MicroSD expansion up to 1TB. The camera is waterproof up to 10 metres, and when combined with the Multifunctional Vision Dock, supports IPX4 splash resistance.
The camera is magnetically mounted to theVision Dock, and can be placed in either direction, making it easy to capture selfies in addition to filming the scene in front of you.
The Xtra Atto Camera battery lasts up to 90 minutes on its own, though when it’s connected to the Multifunctional Vision Dock, the operating time can extend to up to 220 minutes, sufficient for a day’s filming. When plugged into an external power source the whole system, both camera and dock, can charge in 50 minutes.
Who’s The Xtra Atto For?
With features such as Hyperlapse, Timelapse, and Slow Motion (up to 240fps at 1080p), the Atto will be an invaluable tool for any creator needing quality video on the go. Adventure travel and water sports/action sports vloggers will find it particularly appealing.
A couple features stand out:
- Pre-Recording: Retroactively capture up to 5 minutes. Never miss that precious moment.
- Nod Recording: A subtle head nod, and you’re recording. No buttons needed, keeping your hands free.
- Pat Recording: No buttons needed, just a gentle pat to start recording. Switching Portrait and Landscape Modes
The Xtra Atto has a battery that lasts up to 90 minutes, and up to 220 minutes when connected to the Vision Dock. It charges in approximately 40 minutes connected to the Vision Dock.
But What About Photographers?
Yeah, I know, you’re not racing down a mountain on a bike, or surfing and need a dramatic and waterproof POV. You’re no athletic influencer doing TikTok. Neither am I, but the reason this little Atto has so much appeal, is it’s perfect to take out on photography treks to film BTS, and make vlogs for your website or YouTube channel. I believe every photographer should consider carrying a little camera around to document their photography trips.
What I do love about being able to film when out on location, is the ability to tell a story and provide context to a great photo. And then there’s AI taking over image-making. If we do capture something incredible while out on a shoot, some BTS footage is a great way to show your image is real.
The problem is we carry so much gear already, the last thing we want is video kit added to the weight and bulk. The Atto can be mounted to your backpack strap or onto your camera for a camera POV. At 54.25mm wide and 54g in weight, you’ll barely notice you have it.
As someone who makes videos for a photography YouTube channel, I know that a second camera rig is a pain, not only because of the extra weight, but the messing about breaks creative flow. I also know this: Viewers don’t just want to see your finished photos — they want to experience your process.
I'm hoping to conduct a thorough review of the Xtra Atto soon, and will report back.
The Xtra Atto is priced at $299, and launches 29 January, 2026.
